What’s in a Name? Pro Sports Teams Say Big Bucks - FoxBusiness.com

From: Return game has rookie additions - BuffaloBills.com

"Searcy is probably a little bit more of a legitimate return guy than White," DeHaven told Buffalobills.com.

and

"From what I saw him do on special teams we’re going to find some things for him to do where I don’t know if you want him back there as a returner," said DeHaven. "He can be pretty valuable in some other positions."

I wonder if White will use this as motivation to convince his coach he has better punt return skills than described above. I understand this viewpoint by DeHaven and don’t necessarily disagree with it. But sometimes telling someone you can’t do something or they are not good enough makes them work harder at proving them wrong. I know that DeHaven doesn’t say he stinks at it, and is not bad-mouthing White. But my read is that White can expect to be on ST as a gunner or something other than the return man. I’m sure White will get some opportunity to practice as a PR. Just hope it will be a fair shake.

Year two is upon us.

From the ESPN coach rankings:
The simple truth is that no head coach is capable of doing more with less than Gailey. His problem is that he always keeps winding up with less.

Seriously…let’s get this man some honest to goodness talent and see what he can do :)

He took a team that had been a combined 76-36 the previous 7 years (with 3 SB wins)

and went a combine 18-16 (including 0-2 in the playoffs) in 2 years……

So he hardly maximized the talent he had there.

I will (cant believe Im going to defend Coach Gailey here though) say that his main problem was dealing with a bunch of egotisical prima-donnas who didn’t want to put in the work he was requiring of them……..and he lost the team.

I do not see that same issue happening with this team…….especially since these Bills havent won anything since Bill Clinton was our president.

Yes but also take into account the player that your talking about where near the end of their carears and the head coach after him took 3 years to win 15 games with most of the same players.

If he was just the offensive coordinator then I would be impressed......

but the HC is in charge of the entire team…..and the team wasnt that good….

Welp the team also went from 6-10 in 1997 to 10-6 in 1998.

and then back to 8-8.........

so should the Bills expect to be worse this next year?

Look we can go round and round on this topic (and its been done)

For every point someone tries to make about Gailey being a good HC I can find one that says he is not.

That can be said about everyone. I can give you points thatt say someone is not a good qb or a head coach. It can go back and forth on everyone. From peyton manning to bill spygate of the patriots you can make a case that someone is not a good headcoach or player.

It can be done with anyone here you go.

It can be argued that peyton is not a good qb and it has nothing to do with his play on the field. Peyton Manning is so self centered that he keeps demanding higher and higher paid contracts. Lest we forget being paid the most of any player in nfl history was not enough for him before the lockout began. Peyton demands so much cap room that he personally keeps his team from being able to build a dynasty. Their is so much cap room tied into peyton that it makes it harder for them to field a great team. They make the playoffs every year but could be winning alot more superbowls. As the leader of the team he should be able to realize when getting paid to much starts to hurt his team. Peyton is not a good quarterback because his selfer centered mind hurts his team year in and year out.
