Buddy should call Jerry Angelo

All indications are that Kreutz's will be leaving or retiring this year and the bears don't have much depth at that position.  This brought me to thinking that we could maybe get something for Hangman.  He's quite a luxury to have on the bench as a backup and I certainly think that Wood is much superior as a starter so his days are numbered in Buffalo anyways so we might as well get something in return for him - let's stock pile some picks for next year.  I'm certain that he'd be worth at least a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Hangman still could be a starter somewhere and we should be trying to move him in order to get some value for him in return.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

no sense making the team weaker… especially since i love the concept of stacking players on players…

plus, the bears got chris spencer for seahawks already

I’m all about trades and crazy draft scenarios. With that being said, Hang is going to be (in the order of likelihood as I see it) the (a) first guy off the bench for any interior lineman injury (b) the starting RG or © the starting center. He is the definition of versatility, which CHIX has made clear is one of the key traits the Bills value in linemen. I can’t see Buffalo letting him go.

It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.

has he ever played guard? more importantly, is he that much better than the next guy in line?

Seems to me that his worth is primarily as a starting center. I’d rather parlay his current value into a 3rd or 4th next year. We could draft another versatile inside guy next year.

He did play guard for Carolina. Chad Rinehart can definitely play center if needed, and I believe Urbik could as well, so we have back-ups if Hangartner is traded. I’m not sure we would get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him, tho.

My point was simply that we should be trying, exploring the possibility. There’s no harm in trying.
