the good, the bad, and the okay...

 THE GOOD

- SHAWNE MERRIMAN (2.5 sacks, 3 tackles)

in his first real action as a bill, lights out looked like his old self. if he can perform at this level and stay healthy all season, our defense could quickly become one of the most feared in the league...

- RYAN FITZPATRICK (7-9, 44 yards)

i thought fitzy looked very comfortable controlling the offense. he did a great job spreading the ball around and hitting the open man.

- THE DEFENSIVE LINE

the talent we have on our defensive front is tremendous. dareus looked like he has played in the nfl for 5 years. kyle williams. enough said. troup and carrington provide some depth with massive potential. scary.

- NAAMAN ROOSEVELT

there were at least 3 plays during this game where i thought "wow what a catch!! who was that??" and it was naaman just about every time.

- AARON WILLIAMS DIVING, TWIRLING INTERCEPTION

- REID FORREST

thats right.. the punter. on 2 punts, he averaged 45 yards, had a long of 62, and put one inside the 20. this guy has a big leg and i could see him as our punter of the future.

THE BAD

- KRAIG URBIK/ERIK PEARS

not good... something needs to be done here. hopefully these guys can step it up over the next few weeks.

- MARCUS EASLEY'S FUMBLE ON THE KR

these mistakes cannot happen in the regular season. this is how you lose games..

- 2ND and 3RD TEAM RUN DEFENSE

we gave up some big plays later in the game, but somehow only allowed 3 points in the second half. hopefully these young guys can get it together by the time the season rolls around.

- WAY TOO MANY COMMERCIALS

THE OKAY

-  DEMETRIUS BELL

i didn't see anything spectacular out of him, but he seemed to be holding his own against julius peppers in pass protection.

- SCOTT CHANDLER (2 catches, 13 yards)

he showed some good things early in the game and fitz seemed to have good chemistry with him. im very interested in seeing more of this guy.

- MIKE JASPER

jazz showed potential to become a force in the middle of our defense. he did well using his strength and weight to get a push. obviously still very raw but he will only get better.

- CJ SPILLER (2 rushes for 3 yards, 2 catches for 16 yards)

statistically, not a good game. but one of his runs was completely blown up thanks to kraig urbik. and his other looked good as he slipped through the hole for a nice gain. he also made a nice grab on a slant route.

- JOSH NESBITT (3 rushes, 30 yards)

i have to give him some credit. he had some nice runs but never had a chance to show off his arm. im excited to see some more of him
