Gailey does not simply write this off as a depth scenario, but offers it as a very possible situation if he shows more "consistency". This goes hand and hand with Chad Rinehart at left guard.
This is from his interview today.
I find this disconcerting in several ways. I question whether or not Andy Levitre has the experience or body to play the left tackle position in this league.
Andy has been "consistent" at his position the last two years, but at guard, and he has been barley average at his level of play.
At this point in the year, this makes me question the potential of this team. Not only does this show a shaky outlook for the season, but shows that this team still has a ways to go. The quality and "consistency" of this team is directly correlated to the stability of the offensive line and the quarterbacks trust and familiarity with it.
On the other hand, would it be better to roll into the reason with a clear concern and liability with Demetrius Bell on the left side?
