Everyone needs to relax a bit
I have read a bunch of comments and posts lately where Rumblers have been arguing back and forth over how we as fans should be acting. Some think that we should be super positive and support the team through think and thin regardless of the outcome. Others are far more cynical, most likely jaded from the past decade plus of sub-par football and questionable personnel decisions. Here is the thing:
We are all Bills fans and in the end we all want the same thing.
So why are we fighting with each other? I get that the years of losing have caused plenty of frustration but we need to get past all that and treat each other a little better. Stop with personnel attacks, stop taking your frustrations out on other Rumblers and if you disagree with a point somebody makes, try to disprove them with facts that back up your opposing opinion.
I have been guilty of this myself. I have been very critical of others when they "act negative" about the goings on at One Bills Drive. But I now realize that not only does everyone have a right to follow the team however they want, but just because they are expressing their frustration differently doesn't make them less of a fan. I think that we all need to start behaving better and I will take the first step towards that and hopefully others will follow here:
Port Royal; You and I have had plenty of disagreements in the past right along these same lines. You are far more jaded about the team then I am, but that in no way makes you less of a fan or means that you care less then I do. The unhappiness that you seem to have with the team is well earned. This team has done nothing but make bad draft picks, poor free agent signings and even handled the front office changes amateurishly. While we both get frustrated you handle it differently then I do, and that should be okay. I have made it a problem. For that I apologize.
My hope is that if I can say I am sorry to Port Royal and that he and I can act more civilly with each other, then the rest of this community can also.
Time to suck it up Rumblers and act more like adults and deal with each other better, because it is getting out of hand.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Nice post. I agree with you on the whole.
I myself am slightly on positive side of the see-saw that is Buffalo Bills fandom. Doesn’t mean I don’t have my gripes with FO moves and certain players though. But I think a large reason for the recent divide in this community is the rapid response to every little going on with the team. Things would be much more civil if people put on there thinking caps and made some thought out responses. This would lead to better discussions vs typing the first thing that comes to mind. And I completely agree with forming opinions and backing up ideas, no matter if its positive or negative.
Excellent post, I had just read a fanpost that made me think twice about BR. I come here for information, updates, and to get a better feel for how my beloved Bills are doing. The whole response section was a half a dozen people duking it out, not having a healthy disagreement, but personal attacks. I’m a positive fan, I don’t think Chan and Buddy use a magic eightball to make there decisions, I believe there is a reason for moves we may disagree with. But I believe that people can disagree, I just don’t enjoy reading the back and forth venom.

Rec away, Rumblers
We could all be more civil.
I wasn't sure I was going to like the white helmets but seeing them in the practice footage, I've got to say that I love the look.
Very much appreciated

Oh yes.....
I love when people pull out the “if you dont like it go root for another team” bit.
Always a good way to prove a point.
For me, I think everyone on here should be a bit more thick-skinned about things……I do not understand why some people take things so personally on here.
This is a sounding board for excitment, frustration, anger…etc.
It’s going to be okay…….no matter what, there are more important things than the BR community (even though it’s a kick-arse place to be)
Take a look outside (Well except those of you who are being blasted by IRENE)
It’s a good day to be alive and well.

I, like most of us, am also guilty of probably not being as civil as I should be in some of my responses. I do agree with your point, we should all recognize that everyone here is a fan of the team, and we are free to root for them in any way that we wish.
I would like to add one thing to your post, though, and it’s something that has been getting under my skin recently, causing me to react with more abhorrence than is perhaps necessary. And that is putting words’ in peoples’ mouths, or generally drawing conclusions from what people post that isn’t at all what they have said.
Poster 1: “This move by Buddy Nix is crazy! Why trade Lee Evans? Our WRs are unproven and this is going to set our offense back!”
Poster 2: “So you think we should fire Nix and start over again? That’s crazy!”
It happens a lot, and our postings would probably be quite a bit more civil general if this is reigned in a bit. That being said, I feel that we, as a community, should strive to not engage when other posters attempt to get a rise out of us. This is where I, personally, have faltered of late.
Excellent post, and excellent points all around.

wait we traded evans ?
Calling anybody a "career Redskin" when Dan Snyder is the owner is laughable. That dude make moves like he's some kid trading football cards. -greenwood1921

dancam1 - that was an outstanding post
You should make that into its own FanPost. In fact, if you don’t, I just might… (but I’ll certainly credit you. Nicely done.
Im relaxed....but.....
just tired of rumblers sticking up for this organization. Every year I hear we will be better or I like this or that draft pick. We have very limited talent on this roster after being bad for 10+ years. Rebulding starts from the inside out, any person who understands the NFL knows that. We finally address our DL (instead of a RB, CB, S, WR etc.) and look what happens. You get a run stuffer that can get into the backfield for 8+ years. Shocking huh?
The Spiller pick was PATHETIC. The White pick was PATHETIC. Williams was unnecessary. Easley was unnecessary. Catch my drift? OL anyone? Run the football? Protect an average QB?
We should not be supporting Ralph Wilson period. If he loves the WNY community, why is he not making sure the Bills will remain in Buffalo? Is he hiding something? We have been filling his pockets for 10 years for sub par football and thats the thanks we get. Think about it before you pay for a ticket. It is not going to effect anyone buying the Bills beacuse the fans are legit. The current organization is not. Pretty simple.
No apologies necessary, man
The time when this team is fun to watch again, when the moves they execute seem logical on a consistent basis, and when Sunday afternoons in the Fall are looked forward to by Bills’ supporters throughout the entire week, cannot come soon enough. Indeed, we all want the same thing here and eventually we’ll get it (statistically, we are almost assured that eventually). As jaded as I may come across, I really do miss being excited for Bills games when I wake up on Sunday mornings. When that day comes again, it’ll be the fans of this team that I’ll be happiest for…those of us still here, ALL deserve it.

With DJ gone and most of his injury prone wannabes-Shoeble,Poz,Maybin ,Edwards,LynchStroud,Evans, etc.,and hopefully any so called player who was listed as a TE in the last 4 years this is once again a fun team to get behind. It ain’t the Kelley era but GO BILLS,
PS- did I see Kiwi Mitchell flippjng burgs at a NY BK?
best post of the year
and coming from a Rumbler who has earned all of the respect he has around here, it is one I will take to heart.
Way to step up and be a leader sirreric, rec’d.
At the end of the day its almost week 1 and I look forward to the fall strictly because of my Sundays with the Bills. Cant wait – winning or losing.

When I got up this morning here in TN is was very cool.
I could smell it.
Even though it got really hot by noon…… I smelled hunting season and football in the air.
It makes me wish I was 25 years younger. Friday night lights!

Ignore the negativity. After the decade of mayhem people have a right to pessimistic about the organization. It happens.
I agree with you. It is disheartening to hear the negativity from people all of the time. I try to avoid making a negative argument, or posting a comment on an opinion/article i disagree with. Sometimes i give in, it happens.
Nice post though. Stay positive. Things are looking good for this team again.
(Also can we stop with the “We need to treat each other better posts?” I agree with everyone who has posted one, but we are (mostly) all adults can’t we treat each other accordingly and not need people to hold our hands and outline what is appropriate behavior? “Turn the other cheek”)

Not quite the point. Honestly people being overly positive are as much to blame. It isn’t about people being too negative or too positive for that matter, it is about somebody attacking another simply because you both feel strongly but in opposite directions. If somebody posts something you disagree with strongly, just pick apart their beef one point at a time without attacking them. seeing something you disagree with and just putting," You are incredibly stupid" after it is what I am talking about.

Clearly you missed the entire point of this post. Maybe you just read the headline and assumed it’s context. So you are either assuming and putting an inappropriate response in here or you read it and missed the point of it completely and put an inappropriate response in here…se what I am getting at?
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
For me personally, it is the over the top over-reaction (both ways) that makes it tough to read sometimes.
You are spot on about treating each other more respectfully. One thing I would add to that is for everyone to try and exercise a bit more patience when judging events/moves.
For example, when Evans was traded the rhetoric on here would lead you to believe there was a locker room mutiny about to happen. Now, on the Merriman/Stevie "Lights out fanshot many posters seem to think "that this young team is like a family". As usual, reality is likely somewhere in the middle.
Well said sireric and the last point I would add on to your post is a recommendation that everyone re-read what they have typed before they post it. Hopefully this will help posters catch some inflammatory comments that they truly don’t mean or need to say.

Doesn’t that logically fit in with
many posters seem to think “that this young team is like a family”.
If the team is getting close it would stand to reason they might not like having Evans shipped so close to the season.
But your general point is on-point, the over-reaction goes both ways

I REC the post
simply because you were man enough to apologise to another person that you had a disagreement with on here. Well done!!!
