Just For Fun, Please Read
First of all its good to be posting again, even though I'm not a regular, everyone's always treated me (and everyone else for that matter with respect)
I was spit balling random idea's with my dad on Sunday while watching the tape delayed game. Granted Thigpen ended up pulling it through in the end but when they showed his stats and how he completed like 10% of his passes I was like " I thought he was supposed to know this system" (joking aside) But this brought me to the main point of this fanpost.
I said to him, " We should trade for Tim Tebow, That way all we have to do is run the wildcat as our base offenence. Smith, Fitzy and Tebow would give everyone nightmare =)"
So i just thought it was for a little laugh. Thanks for the brain dump.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

we couldn't get Tebow for Thigpen
i don’t believe. that said… if they would do that for us…i bite. i personally think he is worth more than a guy who was third on the dolphins depth chart last year, and is hopefully a cut after his performance so far this year. (even though it is doubtful, and could cost us the chance to further develop Levi, who seems poised enough, big enough, and with the strongest arm on the roster right now. seems silly to ditch a developmental QB after a single year, but then, we can focus more time on developing Brad Smith as a passer is suppose.)

Not as far-fetched as you'd think
Chan Gailey is a noted fan of the Wildcat and similar option strategies. In the book Blood, Sweat and Chalk (a history of football strategies, and a really great read) he says these quotes:
“The single wing type stuff is going to become the norm in the future. Over the next 10 or 15 years it’s going to evolve because the runner thrower is the kind of quarterback that the college game is producing. You don’t find a ton of the six-three, six-four, drop-back, stand-up passer. They’re not in college, so we’re not getting them up here.”
“There are only so many plays in football; all we’re doing is finding different ways to run them all. But there’s no escaping the fact that high school and college football are developing a different type of athlete. Pretty soon – I don’t know how long, but pretty soon – somebody is going to find an athlete who can run and throw and just take the conventional quarterback off the field.”
I think now that he has the chance to direct a team’s roster as well as its offense, Gailey is trying to take advantage of the athlete type players out there and give the Bills a system that can catch everybody by surprise. It was pretty clear that the Bills liked Cam Newton going into last year’s draft, and there are still conspiracy theories that the Bills also tried to trade up for Tim Tebow in 2010. And the signing of Brad Smith shows a commitment to these type of spread-option, single wing plays.
The reason the Wildcat didn’t catch on was that there weren’t any good Wildcat QB’s – the ones who could be a serious threat running the ball, catching a pass, or throwing one. Teams could often leave the actual QB uncovered or up against a linebacker, blitz the Wildcat QB, and disrupt the play before anything happened. Michael Vick is an example of someone you’d love to have at Wildcat QB – he’s a runner and a passer. But because of the next reason, the Eagles try to limit his designed runs.
Another reason the Wildcat and the spread option haven’t caught on is because of the injury risk involved. When you run the option, the QB will be carrying the ball often, which means they’ll get hit a lot. It works in college, but in the NFL it’s too risky with the money and time invested in drafting and raising a QB prospect.
But…
If you could have a stable of 2-3 Wildcat QB’s, who all rotate through the plays like running backs, I think you get something. It takes a lot to ignore the egos involved with who is a starting Quarterback, but when you get past that, you end up with an additional skill position the defense has to account for. And that gives the offense the advantage. Especially if you put 2 or 3 of them out at once, lined up at different positions around the field. Or even lining 2 up in the backfield – one will get the snap, the defense doesn’t know which, and the other can lead block, blitz pickup, run a route, take a handoff, fake a handoff, set up a screen…
I think there’s a big offensive revolution coming soon, and I bet Chan Gailey would like to be a big part of it.

Tebow
If he can’t make it in Denver why would we want him here in Buffalo??
