Buffalo has something special going on right now. For the first time in years they have a QB that not only plays well when needed, but has the faith of his team. Just look at how Cam Newton has made Carolina competitive almost all by himself.
Buffalo has a coach that is smart with his players and knows how to put them in a position to succeed. He also doesn't just put a guy in one spot so that a team can focus on taking that away.
Buffalo has leadership in the locker room for the first time in years. More importantly this means that the Bills have players who care about the team. Guys like Johnson, Jackson, Fitz, Williams and Dareus are going to form the core of at least an AFC East and perhaps AFC championship team very soon. Super Bowl? Way too hard to predict how a team might show up when we haven't even seen them there.
The Bills still have to prove that they are all the way there, but its going to happen sooner rather than later. The Bills draft like they did back in the day. Find guys in the later rounds and UDFA that no one else wanted and then turn them into good players. Heck, even Spiller is starting to see the light.
Unlike 2008 when the Bills started 5-1, the Bills of 2011 don't seem to be a team that will just start hot because all the easy games are at the beginning of the year. There is a direction, and finally, hope.
