Bills vs. Bengals Practice Report: Stevie Johnson Gets Another Rest day

The Buffalo Bills returned to the practice field today to begin preparations for their Week 4 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals sans five players.

Wide receiver Stevie Johnson, as he did prior to last week's game against New England, sat out practice to rest the lingering groin issue that has bothered him since the pre-season. He will likely practice Thursday and Friday, just like last week, and barring something unforeseen will play in Week 4.

Joining Johnson on the sidelines today were guard Kraig Urbik (knee), linebacker Chris White (hamstring), and cornerbacks Terrence McGee (hamstring) and Aaron Williams (collarbone). The only disappointment there is Urbik; the starting right guard was given a chance at playing this weekend by head coach Chan Gailey, but his work week is off to a rough start. Should he miss the game, Chad Rinehart will again get the start.

On the plus side, inside linebacker Kirk Morrison (hamstring) returned to the practice field today, and nose tackle Torell Troup (back) was a full go, as well. On Cincinnati's side, safety Chris Crocker (rest) and linebacker Dontay Moch (foot) sat out, while guard Otis Hudson (knee), defensive linemen Jonathan Fanene (knee) and Robert Geathers (shoulder), and safety Jeromy Miles (groin) were limited.

Maybe with The Troop back in the fold and the defensive line rotation, Marcell and Meatball won’t look so gassed all of the time.
Because they looked that way to me on Sunday.

anyone would against the Pat offense.

I want to see Troup playing, finally, moreso against the Bengals because I believe they will try to put their rookie QB in favorable downs and distance by establishing the run.
I liked Heard so far but I the times I could focus on him he was more effective against the pass than against the run.

Urbik

What does that mean he was given a chance at playing time this weekend? He was given a chance against NE but didn’t go or he was going to be given a chance to step right back into the lineup against Cincy? Either way, if he’s still hurting, it doesn’t seem to matter.

Do you know if any of the guys who sat today for Cincy are going to be definite “outs”?

We won’t know that until the league-mandated Friday injury report

A little confused about Urbik's status.

I would love to see him back in the fold, maybe not in the lineup this week but able to practice. It’s a long season and he does carry that versatility label more so than Rinehart. Still let’s allow him to get to 100 % and then practice for a week before thinking about plugging him back in. The experience isn’t going to hurt Rinehart, they both need and are very good at their trade.
