Bellichick is the master!
I am not a fan of Bill Bellichick the person, i find he has arrogant attitude and i question some of the reactions he's had in the past following losses. But I must admit that the guy is brilliant. He is always one step ahead of everyone else.
Two years ago when he drafted two TEs in rounds 2 & 4 I knew he was on to something. It wasn't a coincidence at all. He was overhauling his offense yet once again. The results have been nothing short of amazing. But what he did last weekend really blew me away because I hadn't seen Hernandez used in that capacity before. Hernandez is a great runner. I couldn't understand why he was doing it until this afternoon when the guys on Sirius were discussing the "no huddle" that they were running and the advantage of it combined with the two TE set. It's all about deception and favorable matchups. Start off with a spread offence, two TEs and no RBs. Let the defense make their adjustments (ie a bunch of DBs) then go immediately no huddle and prevent them from changing personnel and pound the ball with Hernandez - smart!
Has much as I dislike the man, I am constantly in awe by his football and strategic brilliance.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

As a Bills fan.
I am a huge Belichick fan. He is a genius and I think the best of this generation of coaches.
I have to agree. As a coach the man has my respect.
I honestly think that he’s the best coach the NFL has seen in the last 25 years. And I hate to think that we may have another 10+ years of facing him.

41 - 55
That was Belichick’s record before Tom Brady took over for an injured Drew Bledsoe. Genius? Or just fortunate to be the guy who fell backwards into Tom Brady….
Paranoids are not paranoid because they're paranoid, but because they keep putting themselves...deliberately into paranoid situations.
probably a combo of the two.
drafting 2 TEs was genius. But I don’t see them being an effective team after Brady.
You are now Watching The Throne.
IMO Chan will do something simular next year with our two RB's
I think part of the solution of getting both are RB’s the touches they need will be in moving CJ around.
I invision a 3-2 pro formation with Stevie, and our new and improved number two WR with Nelson in the slot. CJ, and Freddie in the backfield. Fitz come up to the line and if the defense is in a nickel respecting the spred then we run it down there throat. Let them split the running touches. Each time we run it one of out two great backs is a decoy and the other gets just a little more open space to run against a smaller defense. If they line up to stop the run Fitz puts CJ in motion to the other slot and we have a very respectable pass threat. I really think CJ can replace Parrish in the slot as he has all the same tallents. Speed, shiftiness, and score threat each time he has the ball in the open field. IMO teams will have to play extra DB’s to cover this spred. Both plays come without any substitutions and at a fast pace so as to not give the defense a chance to react. What do you guys think??

I cant help but chuckle at this......
I admire your faith in Gailey.

I concur
It took 3 Bills losses or should I say blowouts to the Jets to realize he couldn’t get a mismatch against their DB stable using the spread. When he finally adjusted in the 4th game, we almost won.
He adjusts waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to slow.

To add nice idea.
I just don’t think Gailey has it in him to figure to use a pro set, like I have been asking for since the Jauron days when we had two good backs when Fred emerged. I also doubt Gailey could figure out when it would be better to go with a TE instead of a 3rd WR when it offers the chance for a better mismatch or when it would be necessary for protection with DBs that can blitz.

That would be awesome.
I hope Chan knows how to envision this as much as you do.

Brady is the Master
Bellichek is a head coach that has won three superbowls with Tom Brady. Bellichek is a head coach that has a vision on what he needs to do to exploit defenses that can rapidly adjust to your system and put a defense on the field to seriously challenge it. Bellichek is the head coach that has failed miserably putting a defense on the field that could of won him at least two more superbowls. Bellichek is a head coach that knows how to collect draft picks but fail to draft defensive players that can become playmakers on his defenses and survives solely off the play of his QB which has been in the same system for a decade. A decade with a minimumal running game to to support his pass happy offense. Bellichek isn’t a master, Tom Brady is!! That’s why there is so much love for the “Franchise QB” talk. This could be an exception year where the Patriots win the superbowl but it will be because of Brady and his two tightend’s and Bellichek’s vision to incorporate them into an offense that most defenses are not structured to deal with. Bellichek has great vision, enough to adjust prior to the next season, but without the Master to lead the team in Brady he would be just another coach looking for a master.

It is kind of funny
because the 2 TE spread is kind of close to the same thing as the Kgun. I give him credit for having 2 TEs who can catch and do that well but TT was used that way in the Kgun too. Really not that much different of a scheme, esply when they use the hurry up to do it. Same book different cover, IMHO. Why it took another coach this long for a small variation is more of a question to me. I think his genius is overrated but he is a hell of a cheater. Oh, I mean offensive master mind.
The post above that says we should have Fred and CJ in the backfield is 100% correct BTW. The spread can be run 59 different ways and I would use that one. I would also like to see Chan leave Corey in the back field, spread CJ to the slot and delay an up the middle run by Corey in short yard age (when other teams think he is in there for pass protection and we are going to pass for certain). Which is kind of how Bellyache used Hernandez the other day. He got injured on one of those runs BTW. Just a note.

Then why
Couldn’t he do anything for the Browns when he couched there? Look at the coaches who get lucky with a good team. The Cowboys, the 49ers, the Colts. What really makes a great coach?
What makes a great coach is someone who can turn a crappy team into a playoff team..For example this year it would be the Broncos and Bengals.
If he did not have Brady how could would he really be?
I hate Bellichick
I hate the Pats
And I hate pretty boy Brady!
Answer
Couldn’t he do anything for the Browns when he couched there?
He had more years to learn his craft better and bring his knowledge of the offensive side of the ball equal to his knowledge of the defensive side of the ball and develop Brady.
I hate the Patriots too, but I do respect Bellichick, because I have seen so many really clever deception plays on both O and D over the past 12 or so years. I really wish we had a HC that knew both sides of the ball so well.
I would settle for one who would at least steal some of his ideas of the more clever stuff.

That's what most teams who run the hurry up try to do. I think you give too much credit to BB for that.
Also, using Hernandez in the backfield is not a new use for a TE. Many teams used to run “H-backs” which was a TE simply lined up in the backfield. The Redskins most recently during Chris Cooley’s monster years
