Matt Flynn
Happy Saturday!
I do like Matt Flynn, but I don't have much interest in our Bills pursuing him nor will they. However, I am curious at how much people believe he will receive on the open market. After his MONSTER game againt the Lions, it's inevitable he'll get paid.
I would not be surprised if he signed a $70-$80 million dollar contract.
Any thoughts on his potential contract?

hmmm
possible landing spots people are talking about are the Jets, Dolphins (Philbin coached Flynn in green bay), Jacksonville, and even Baltimore. My guess is that he will have around a 6 year contract worth about 75 million with at least 25 million guaranteed

A 6 year contract sounds about right. I could see him in Miami because of their new head coach. I think guaranteed money is around 30-35 million.
The money you mention sounds about what some team will pay.
Which is insane. But somebody’s gonna do it.
As for the Bills………..

agree
Flynn is going to MIAMI. He’ll start on day one, not least cause Flynn will probably implement an offense very similar to Green Bay’s. That means he won’t have much (if any) learning curve, and will probably be very successful.
unfortunately

Most logical
Browns and dolphins least logical everybody else
With the first pick in the 2012 draft the Indianapolis Colts select Robert Griffen III

I wouldn't be against...
the Jets or Miami sinking a ton of their money and strapping themselves for years on a QB that is no guarantee.
They got rid of Shotty Jr, so I think Sanchez is safe for the moment
I think Miami goes after Flynn. I would like to see Manning go to the Skins, but they might make a play for RG3 in the draft.

I took a flyer on him in my fantasy league
In my keeper league, I signed Flynn to a 4-5 year contract for cheap ( real cheap) with the hopes that exactly this would happen. In retrospect, it was a great move!
The only problem is I think the most logical landing spot for him is Miami
Rebuilding a team properly takes time and patience
Let some other team learn what we already know
One game on a great team means nothing. Any QB on GB would look good. I’d be far more impressed with that sort of play on a bad team.
look at the kevin kolb deal
i think thats a fair point of reference. similar situation for both players: backups to great quarterbacks who did well in spot duty and became hot commodities. matt flynn put up better numbers, but that was on a much better team and with a smaller sample size.
kolb got a 5 year extension worth 63.5 million, with 21 guaranteed. i think its fair to guess that flynn winds up with a similar contract.
Its fun to think quarterback, but i think the odds of nix taking one in the first are close to 0%.
IMO i see him coming to buffalo
Once a year in a dolphins jerseys. With the fins just getting philbin i see them making the hardest push for flynn…also flynn already knows his system and it would be the best place to go for him to be succesful so i think he will go to the fins and they will want him
Ay Ay Ay Ayyyyy
