Conference Championship Author-Mod's Pick'em

With a perfect weekend of picking games I have now closed the gap with Krytime in the fight for third this season, with a chance to overtake silverstreak only if he stupidly picks every team opposite from mine.

Standings:

  1. Ron 170
  2. silverstreak 166
  3. krytime 164
  4. WABillsfan 164
  5. Joe P. 160
  6. Kurupt 153
  7. poz 133

WABillsfan's Pick Justifications:

Ravens: While the Patriots are on a record pace, I think the Ravens D can keep the game close and Webb is on fire right now. I also think that Ray Rice will have a great day to help out Flacco. Call it a hunch but I think the Ravens have a similar mojo as 2000. This game will be close, and it will be a duel of the TE's as both teams feature the future of NFL football for the next decade.

Giants: Antrel Rolle unlike the Saints safeties can cover Vernon Davis one on one. I think with Davis bottled up it becomes a game of stop Gore and dare Smith and Crabtree to best you. Eli has done a much better job protecting the rock this year and his wideouts are dynamic unlike the Niners. It will be close but the Giants O is superior to the Niners O and that means they squeak out a win. Eli will then go on to greater fame and fortune than his brother, and who would have thought that was possible?

Ron's Pick Justifications:

Patriots: The Ravens just aren't going to score enough to keep this game even close. I'll be surprised if the Patriots aren't up by a wide margin at halftime en route to a route of the Ravens. I can see Flacco throwing some awful INTs as the game nears the end, which will hopefully build some false confidence in the Patriots' defense. The Ravens' defense won't stop the Patriots while the Ravens' offense will likely have trouble getting out of its own way.

49ers: The Giants and the 49ers strike me as mirror images of one another. The Giants probably have the better QB but the 49ers have a better set of offensive weapons. Each team features stout defenses that can generate pressure without blitzing. Unlike the Patriots-Ravens game I figure that this one will be close until the end. The 49ers are at home and have that extra something going for them this year. It may not be enough to carry them through to victory in the Super Bowl but I can see them getting to the big game.

Kurupt's Pick Justifications:

Pats-

Giants-

Krytime's Pick Justifications:

Pats - I just don't see them losing the rest of this season. Plus, I flat out don't trust Flacco..

NYG - This team is on fire, and even though I think SF is better, I don't think they're ready for primetime yet.

Joe P.'s Pick Justifications:

Ravens-

Giants-

Poz's Pick Justifications:

Patriots- their defense may be awful but they will torch an overrated ravens defense and joe flacco and the offense will not be able to keep up. Turnovers make the difference and Brady will not commit many.
Giants- Alex smiths performance last game was a fluke. The gaints are hot and the most dangerous team left in the playoffs. Either way, gmen get a rematch with either ravens or pats. This one will not even be close. Running game, wrs, and dline are too good

Silverstreak's Pick Justifications:

Ravens-

49ers-

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I hope that I'm wrong about the Patriots

I’d love to see New England pounded into submission by the Ravens. I just don’t see it.

I wasn't sure I was going to like the white helmets but seeing them in the practice footage, I've got to say that I love the look.
