Best D-Line in the League

If Buffalo were to land Mario Williams in the free agency, they could draft Quinton Coples in the 1st Round, Bruce Irvin in the 2nd Round, and move to a 4-3. This would put Marcell Darius and Kyle Williams at the DT position, Mario Williams at his natural DE spot and move Quinton Coples to the other DE spot. Great teams build from the inside out. This kind of pressure would make our linebackers and secondary instantly better because we wouldn't need to waste LB's on blitz's like in the past and the other team's receiver wouldn't have time to just run past Florence like hes not there. Nick Barnett at MLB, Shawne Merriman and Bruce Irvin at OLB would change us from one of the worst Defense's in the league to a top 10, not to mention QUALITY backups that were previous starters. Even when Buffalo was 5-2 the Defense was STILL bad...we all knew that winning games 35-31, 31-28, 38-35, etc. wasn't going to last very long....this would give us a chance to be change the way the league views the Buffalo Bills. Its time for change....

PLAYOFFS IN 2012!!!

It definitely sounds appealing

And with Irvin and Merriman at 4-3 OLB you find yourself in a Giants situation where even your linebackers could line up as pass rushers with ease.
But it will be very difficult for Buffalo to even decide they want Mario Williams, let alone get him away from Houston, and I’m not a fan of Quinton Coples – I think he’s lazy and only waiting for the paycheck before he stops trying altogether.
Plus, with a strong side 4-3 end, you can usually find someone in the 2nd or 3rd round who is almost as effective.

Still, if Buffalo gets Williams, I’m all for using the top picks in this draft to put together a terrifying defense.

Mario williams is a possibility

But we would have to sign him to a 100 million dollar contract to get him im sure ralph wouldn’t care to do so but to ruin the mood and draft coples? Dudes lazy all the tape i watch is him giving up after a few seconds i dont want that on this squad we also have moats and batten who were 4/3 de’s

Haven't seen much of Coples

But why are we even having this discussion about him if he’s so lazy..What are people seeing that makes him even a discussion at 10??

Not sure why

Might be the few drafts on other sites i seen that have us taking him at 10 wih the only explanation stating we need a pass rush not that he is elite and at 10 you get elite

I thought Moats played OLB at JMU? Either way, I don’t see Moats translating to more than a situation DE in the NFL. He is a full on LB now.

He was a de at jmu if we go back to a 4/3

Kelsey would be the strong side de and moats could be the pass rushing specialist could work but we have pieces to do both defenses and do them well if we added williams

Franchise Tag

I think it’s more realistic that Houston Franchise tags Williams. I assume they’ll put a pressure reasonable tender on him because they really can’t afford him without cutting some players. If that were the case the Bills could use their 1st rounder and possibly another mid-low rounder pick to get him away then sign him to a more reasonable deal; ie not get into a bidding war they will never win.

If we manage to get Williams we already have the best d-line in football

and do not need to be wasting more picks on the defense. Look at what Jared Allen makes everyone who lines up opposite him look like. Look at what Julius Peppers did to Isreal Idonjie. If we get Mario Williams, Chris Kelsay is more than adequate to keep this d-line elite.

Line up Williams, Williams, Dareus, and Kelsay at d-line and start Barnett, Sheppard, and Merriman at LB. Draft Justin Blackmon if you can at 10.

Subtract Blackmon by Floyd and I’m in! In fact that just may be my next team on Madden.

My thoughts exactly.

But we have to re-sign Stevie first.

Hint: don’t hold your breath.

if the Bills dont resign Stevie

I might go on a 2 week bender and not the bars and pubs type. The sit on my recliner growing a beard rambling about how Rob Johnson never should have started over Flutie to my dog type.

I'd hold off

If they were to bring in, say, Bowe and VJ, I’d be fine with SJ leaving. Wait until FA starts.

4-3

So depending on personnel…we all agree that Buffalo is better suited in a 4-3 ???
