Bills Poised To Have A Good 2012 Season

The salary cap was created in order to create parity in the NFL - which it has. What hasn't changed since the salary cap is how many coaches get fired. Every year it seems like a third of the league gets a new coaching staff.

Luckily for the Bills they get to face 5 teams with brand new coaches next year.

Star-divide

I think 2012 is going to be an interesting year. I think the Bills will win a lot of games because they get to play Kansas City, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Miami (x2) and Indianapolis who will all have new coaches. Some teams do well in their first year as a head coach (seriously, i've heard this, it's just not a Buffalo thing) so we should get 4 or 5 wins out of that group. At least one would think.

Then we get to play some teams that aren't very strong like Seattle, Tennessee, Arizona. Sure all of them could beat us, heck Tennessee beat us this year, but those aren't games that you look at and say the Bills will definitely lose.

So I think it's going to be interesting because we have a real good shot at winning anywhere from 7-10 games. The problem with that is it won't be against quality opponents so we won't have a real good indication of how good this team is unless we look at NE, San Fran and the Jets.

Next year could be a year in which we break into that wild card spot, I just hope it's not on the base of a sand foundation.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Don't worry....Fitz will probably get injured in the first game

Pigpen will “lead” us to a record good enough for the #1 pick. Then Nix will be forced to draft a QB because he won’t be able to say the guy they liked was gone :-)

Lets hope not

Next year is our best year for a playoff spot. The year after, our schedule will be insane, no matter where we end up.

I don't want Fitz to get injured, but I also don't want to back into a wildcard spot because of a soft schedule

The goal is a SB not a first round playoff loss.

disagree

so much of what makes an nfl team work is confidence

if the bills get to the playoffs, even on a soft schedule, the players aren’t going to say “we backed in”

they’re going to say all the hard work at practice and beating 10 teams brought us to the playoffs and we deserve it.

that’s a confidence builder and a team builder. gotta get those playoff reps.

just like the lions

Swartz said there will be a time where we dont celebrate going to the playoffs, but today is not that day.

same thing if the bills go to the playoffs like you said above it would generate huge confidence

Ay Ay Ay Ayyyyy

I suggest you grab a pillow and take advantage of this dreamy time of the year :-)

I think Buffalo splits with each AFC East rival and goes 3-3.

I think they’ll go 3-1 vs. the NFC West, with the loss coming to the 49ers.

I think they’ll go 3-1 vs. the AFC South, with the loss coming to Houston.

I think they’ll split vs. KC and Cleveland.

10-6

I agree

10-6 is realistic next year. Lots of teams get in because of a soft schedule. As long as the NFL runs the schedule like that, it will always be that way. 2013 will be insanely hard. I don’t mind us not making it, as long as we are competitive in each game.
Just remember, Brady is nearing the end. Buffalo is a team on the rise. The tides are a-changing.

totally agree

I don’t see the Jets being good at all. Sanchez is turrible. Their defense is getting worse, and they have no LBs, a turrible RT, and turrible WRs. Ok maybe I am just “hating” on the Jets, but I don’t see them going better than 8-8.

I hate the Jets too.
But they beat us hard this year.

Only the first time

The second game we had them dead to rights until same very stupid mental errors (shot ourselves in the foot….again…sigh).

Punt?! In our moment of triumph?! I think you overestimate their chances!!

and I know how to spell terrible. Just doing my charles barkley through the keyboard..

but yea I we should have beat them the second time. The first game though they dominated us, I was at it and could not believe it at the time. They are so inconsistent, hopefully next year they are become consistent, consistently bad

I have no idea how well they'll do.

I have no idea how well they’ll do on opening day let alone months before the draft (except that I was right on the money last year). But I like DJ’s prediction above. If they can end the playoff drought, then I will take it however I can get it.

Interesting post; and the star’s are aligned schedule wise. My prediction though is that the Vegas line will be over/under 6.5 unless 2-3 legitimate FA’s are signed.

Some many times when a team has a so called soft or hard schedule, it ends up being the opposite. To me it all comes down to how hey compete in their own division. If they play well within the division, I feel they have a great chance at making the playoffs.

glad to see a ray of optimism!

I know you still have many concerns, but I worry about you over on the dark side;)
