Mockness Monster.... A Solid Mock Draft
How you all doing rumblings. I have been on my draft game lately, and I have established a solid 7 round situation that would make myself, and maybe you guys go absolutely crazy ...BAM! These picks seem realistic (at the moment) considering the combine has yet to happen...LET THE DRAFT SAY THE REST!
Round 1: Nick Perry DE/OLB- USC
Round 2: Vinny Curry DE- Marshall
Round 3: Orson Charles TE- Georgia
Round 4a: Brian Quick WR- Appalachian State
Round 4b: Juron Criner WR- Arizona
Round 5: Emmanuel Davis CB- East Carolina
Round 6: J.B. Shugarts OT- Ohio State
Round 7: Chase Ford TE- Miami
This draft has a lot of positives in my opinion. Right off the bat, we are fixing our pass rush with two studs in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Then, we draft an extremely athletic tight end in Orson Charles to be a prime target for Fitzpatrick (and hes way better than Scott Chandler). With our two 4th rounders, we draft targets for Fitzpatrick to succeed and play according to his contract (and if he doesn't, at least wel have a solid receiving core for the next QB...crossing my fingers that does not happen). Brian Quick, Stevie Johnson, Marcus Easley, David Nelson, and Juron Criner (damn that is a beautiful recieving core espescially with Charles at TE!) Round 5 we take a small school player, but a value pick as Emmanuel Davis is a strong prospect. With our secondary addressed in the 5th, we go into the 6th snagging a solid player in J.B. Shugarts who showed off his skills by holding 1st round prospect Devon Still to his most quiet game of 2011. BAM! This next pick is the most interesting pick of all in my opinion. Chase Ford is a raw talent with pure athleticism who would compliment Orson Charles to make a real solid duo TE foundation. I would say this is nothing but a successful draft and at least 3 players would turn heads big time....
THROW THE COMMENTS AND LETS SPARK SOME DEBATE MY FRIENDS!

Nice Mock
but as the off season is getting closer the more and more I am wanting the Bills to finally get a Franchise LT. I feel if we get can get martin or Reiff in the first we should. We would finally have depth on the OL, with Hairston as a back up. No longer could we make the excuse that our OL isn’t good enough.
Although I do really like your mock. Addressing OLB is the biggest thing this off season. and Perry and Curry seem to be 2 of the best. Also I like the idea of getting weapons around Fitz, which is what Ralph Wilson said. Nice Work.
You are now Watching The Throne.
thank you

I agree..nice job
My one change would be replacing Juron Criner with Case Keenum.
This draft is really good
I do think it is a bit too early because we don’t know who we will sign as a FA. If we can pick up a LT and/or resign Bell, then this draft is very solid. I believe this team is “only” 5 starters away from being a consistent playoff team.
dude
Perry, Curry, Quick, and Charles would be immediate starters and would be damn good at their jobs..then we’d need a stud offensive lineman as well as a succesfull development of Kelvin Sheppard and Aaron Williams. If those players (Sheppard, Williams, Searcy, Rogers, etc.) perform to the ceiling of our expectations…we will be a playoff team and a good one.

This draft would be pretty good in theory, but in all reality, I believe I’ve seen on many scouting blogs that Orson Charles is a second round prospect and that Brian Quick is the same. The latest I’ve seen Quick being drafted is round three. Both of these guys are immediate impact players and if Buffalo could get them it would be great, but that is unlikely. Nick Perry is just scratching the surface of his abilities and he reminds me of a young Shawne Merriman. I think it’s sad that this is going on draft three for the 3-4 defensive alignment and they still haven’t put players in place to run the defense the way it needs to be run. If this draft adds quality depth and two to three starters, then I would say it will be considered a huge success. Nix and company have said time and again that they want to build through the draft and that’s exactly what I believe they intend on doing. The market isn’t very appealing to high profile free agents for a variety of reasons and I don’t see guys like Mario Williams agreeing to a contract with the team, so therefore they must must must bring in a big time pass rusher through the draft.
Emanuel Davis
is my sleeper Corner prospect, so I like this draft as well.

Can someone on this thread compare...
Nick Perry to Jared crick? Personally like Crick better but know he had the medical thing occur. Almost wonder which might be better especially if we could get crick in the second. Thanks
Perry is a pure pass rusher 6-3 250
Crick is 6-6 285 and a guy who can play 3-4 DE,4-3 DE, and some 4-3 UT likely. But he’s probably never gonna give you double digit sacks. IMO. Whereas Perry is gonna get his money in the NFL, by getting after the QB.

Criner is moving up supposedly, other than him I think this draft is tottaly possible. Demario Davis- a couple rumblers mentioned him a couple weeks ago. I hope he gets into a bills jersey next year.

Good start..
I like this draft, and would be quite happy were it to come to pass- but I think that is doubtful given the player evaluations and the stated priorities of CHIX the past two years. The first three rounds look solid and seem realistic possibilities. Based on information I have seen so far, both Quick and Criner are likely to be gone by the end of round 3. Were one of them to fall to us in the 4th, I would be thrilled. I think it more likely that CHIX goes for an OT in the 4th than for a second WR, and maybe then uses that 6th round pick for a speed slot receiver type to replace Roscoe. I also see a second CB taken before a second TE. Somewhere, draft or free agency, I see another DE being brought in, and a real play made for an experienced #1 WR. (I see Stevie as an ideal #2 WR).
After having a solid senior bowl against top competition brian quick should have moved fron third to second . If he has a solid game against more top corners he could jump dwight jones on the boards of scouts. Dwight jones has had a bad senior bowl just has shown no effort in practices.

Would love to get Brian Quick in the 2nd or 3rd. Not sure he’s falling any further.

I like the draft, but something I keep seeing is Orson Charles in the third: not just for the Bills, but for everybody. He seems to be a favorite mock draft target, and usually those go higher than the round that they’re mocked. Considering the recent success of tight ends, I think Charles will be gone before our third pick.
nice mock
i love the mock draft alot……..but in rd 4 how about a cb instead of a wr………i really think we need a vet wr from f.a there are alot of quality wr free agents we need one
