4-3 mock draft
Hello welcome to my first post 43 mock draft. The FA's I believe the Bills will resign are Stevie Johnson, Craig Urbik, Chad Rinehart, Scott Chandler TE.And without further ado here it goes.
Round 1
Donta Hightower LB, Alabama. 6-4 260, 4.78
Position he would play on the defense: strong side linebacker. With Kelvin Sheppard at MLB and Nick Barnett on the Weak side we dont really have anyone on the strong side. He fills this need instantly. Other players I would look at are Jon Martin LT, Courtney Upshaw DE, Melvin Ingram DE, Quinton Coples DL.
Round 2
Vinny Curry DE, Marshall. 6-3 263 4.74
Position he would play on the defense: right defensive end. This is the guy I've had in my mocks in this slot since day 1. He is relatively under the radar at Marshall but burst onto the national scene in the senior bowl. He would be a big upgrade over whoever is starting for us at RDE. other players I would look at Chase Minnefield CB, Mohammed Sanu WR, Jared Crick DE, Orson Charles TE.
Round 3
Tommy Streeter WR, Miami (FL). 6-4 215 4.49
Position he would fill on Offense: WR opposite of Stevie Johnson. I never liked Donald Jones as a WR because he is just a special teamer and David Nelson is only valuable in the slot. He would step in immediatly and become what Buddy said we needed. a guy who is open, when hes not open. Other Players I would look at are Brian Quick WR, Brandon Lindsay OLB, Markelle Martin FS, Nick Toon WR.
Round 4a
Josh Norman CB, Coastal-Carolina. 6-1 203 4.53
position he would play on defense: CB opposite Aaron Williams. Big guy for the CB position. He intercepted 3 passes in a shrine game practice. Justin Rogers is much better as a nickel and Drayton Florence just makes penalty after penalty. Other players I would look at are Donnie Fletcher CB, Audie Cole LB, Cam Johnson De.
Round 4b
Emmanual Acho LB, Texas. 6-2 245 4.79
Position he would play on Defense: depth depth depth. would be a Great depth pick and provide more beef to our linebacking core. Other players I would look at are Terrell Manning LB, Ryan Broyles WR, Brock Osweiler QB.
Round 5a (Marshawn Lynch trade)
Chandler Harnish QB, Northernd Illinois. 6-2 220 4.72
position he would play on offense: Backup QB. Tyler Thigpens only highlight of the year was when he got hit in the head with the ball. Harnish would provide a serviceable backup and might even contend for the starting job in the future.
Round 5b
Matt Reynolds OT, BYU. 6-4 305 5.28
Position he would play on Offense: backup OT. With Chris Hairston on the left side and Pears on the right he would provide a nice backup option.
round 6
Blake Gideon FS, Texas. 6-0 205 4.64
Position he would play on defense: Backing up Byrd. On the SS side we are set with Wilson and Searcy but the FS position has no depth at all. He would provide a nice fill in for Byrd when he tires. also was a 4 year starter at Texas.
round 7
Donte Paige-Moss DE, North Carolina. 6-4 260 4.67
Position he would play on defense: depth depth depth. would provide the key word depth for kelsay and Curry. We now have a scary Dline with Dareus, Willliams, Curry, Kelsay and with Carrington, Edwards, Troup, and Paige-Moss providing a rotation.
Offense
QB-Fitz
RB-Jackson/Spiller
Wr-Johnson
WR- Streeter
TE- Chandler
Tackles- Hairston/Pears
Guards- Levitre/Urbik
C-Wood
Slot WR- Nelson
Defense
DE-Curry/Kelsay
DT-Dareus/Williams
LB's- Sheppard/Barnett/Hightower
CB's- Williams/ Norman/Florence
S- Byrd/Wilson

somebody brought up a very good point when i suggested hightower
why draft an slb in round 1 when we are going to play nickel defense 50% of the time…
you can argue, we can keep hightower in and take sheppard out but does that really upgrade your defense that much?
i would argue that you should move hightower up to the line in nickel and have him rush the passer from a DE spot.
Its fun to think quarterback, but i think the odds of nix taking one in the first are close to 0%.
Hightower
he could play any position. he could be the guy that covers a tight end and do a better job the B. Scott.
Not that he was horrible but Hightower can play all over the filed especially in a 4-3 from DE to all the LB positions.
tommy streeter
here is a report
he has so many weaknesses, he is not worth it… plus bunting says he will play the big-slot position… we already have david nelson for that…. we need a big receiver…
pass on streeter
there goes them keywords on streeter tho
6’4, 215 ,long set of arms, big hands, and will get the football even when covered up.

....james hardy?
pretty sure sounds a lot like him oh no! haha i mean it is a later pick.
I hope we grab a WR in Free agency and instead use a pick like that on. Either DE like Jake Besquette out of Arkansas i believe he is crazy good.
or we grab a better OT like Adcok out of OSU i think.
love the first 2 picks. after that you lost me.
streeter, in particular, is remarkably overrated on this site.
harnish is a guy i think is overrated in general, nothing about his game really says ‘pro QB’ as far as i can tell.
reynolds will almost certainly have to move inside in the NFL. he has some of the slowest feet ive ever seen on an offensive tackle.
i dont think gideon is the kind of backup FS they should be in the market for. if they target one, go after a super athlete thats got great range but is a project player. gideons just too limited athletically to fit that mold
Its fun to think quarterback, but i think the odds of nix taking one in the first are close to 0%.
Overall, pretty good
Reynolds has to move to guard in the NFL. He’s only 6-4, has shorter arms, and slow feet.
DPM: you couldn’t pay me to draft him. High level talent, low level attitude.
Re-starting the official Buffalo "Draft a quarterback in the First Round in 2012" campaign.
Reynolds has to move to guard in the NFL. He’s only 6-4, has shorter arms, and slow feet.
Matt Reynolds is hot garbage

Yep. DPM doesn’t deserve to play in the NFL.

I love how Vinny Curry plays just from the relatively little that I have seen. I think has good speed and acceleration. He looks like he is big enough to play the position and he hustles all the time. He will need to develop counter moves and work on defending the run better but I think that he will be a good to very good player in a few years. As far as Hightower goes, I don’t think the Bills will be picking a linebacker in the first three rounds. I believe that Nix said that they wanted to get one either in free agency or later in the draft.
If we don't resign Bell..........
…….. then we better draft an OT in rounds 1-3.

IMO any conversation about this off-season should start with free agency and the fact OBD has to resign stevie, no one visits revis island quite like he does, add 1 top 3 WR (Desean) and 1 top 3 DE, after that here is how my draft would go 1st top LT 2nd Vontez Burfict or top CB 3rd Bobby Wagner or top CB 4th Brock Osweiler and Brian Quick 5th Ladarius Green and Shea McClellin 6th George Iloka 7th Jeff Allen
