The regular season is over; and while I wish I could be sharing with you all my pick in the Bills' first playoff game in 12 years, sadly we'll just have to talk about a bunch of other teams. This season has been a series of ups and downs wagering-wise, but in the end I am going into the playoffs with some $ in my pocket. I hope some of you tailed and were able to cashout as well. Let's recap week 17. I went a terrible 1-4-0 to close the regular season:
My picks:
SF-10.5@ STL - (L) Had this game until SF let them put up a ton of garbage...thus the problem wagering in late weeks.
CAR+7.5@NO - (L) Wow...just wow. Carolina looked plain awful.
CHI@MIN-1 - (L)
BUF+10.5@NE - (L) we will not be discussing this
Dal@NYG-3 - (W) yay!!! somebody actually covered!!!
Season record is now: 79-64-7
After the jump - lines and picks on all 4 games this weekend.
CIN@HOU-4 O/U38.5
DET@NO-10.5 O/U59
ATL@NYG-3 O/U47.5
PIT@DEN+8.5 O/U 33.5
My picks
CIN+4 - I like Cincy's defense against this rookie Yates. I also like Dalton to keep them in there in his playoff debut (back in Texas mind you). They may not win, but they cover the 4. I also like the
CIN@HOU OVER 38.5 - this may seem a bit contradictory to my comments re: liking Cincy's D, but I still see some points in this game.
DET@NO OVER 59 - I don't care if NO is playing the '85 Bears, they're gonna put up points in the 40's. While I expect DET to make up the difference, I do not like the 10.5 line.
ATL+3 - I LOVE the Falcons in this spot. I just think they have too many weapons. NYG is not a team that plays unbeatable football at home (ala the Saints)...and while the Victor Cruz storyline is a good one, I do not think the kid goes off like has has the past few weeks.
DEN+8.5 - This would be a very low rated game if I rated these, but I like Denver to cover at home against a really beat up Steelers team. Clark (not playing), Puncey (out), Roethlisberger (banged up big time), Mendenhall (out), now their RB Coach in the hospital recovering from life-threatening burns from a tragic house fire...doesn't bode well for the Steelers in this spot. I really think not having their RB coach there to guide their young back-up Redman is gonna be a difference maker. (Side Note: nothing, not even football, is as important as the recovery of Kirby Wilson...all wishes for a safe and speedy recovery, brother!)
That's what I like this weekend...how about you? Let's get some comments going. Good luck this weekend!
