An excuse for Fitz

I post very infrequently, but one guys bad performance has led me to create one. Erik Pears is losing his battles in pass protection, and unlike our past Qb's who either checked down or took the sack, Fitz tries to force a play. I believe the latter is better than the former. I'm not defending his inaccuracy, but the guy is trying to make his reads a little gun-shy. He's been taking big hits since pre-season, and is certainly showing toughness. When Cordy comes back, I wouldn't mind seeing Hairston getting a shot at starting RT. Ya, I know he got blown up for a sack/ fumble, and had a false start, but he seems to be handled by his man less often than Pears(ie: I prefer losing to a speed rusher over being out-muscled). I think it would go a long ways to making the club better if the best protectors are on the field, gelling, and developing a good blocking scheme together. I'd like to give Pears a pass on having reserve guards next to him, but he's being pushed around one on one. I just wanted to point this out, because it seems to be unnoticed and/or unmentioned.
