Shifting Goal Posts

We hear that phrase from politicians from time to time. Some politician lays out some standard for the opposing candidate, that other guy meets or exceeds the standard and the first politician changes the metrics. Well, it appears that the Bills are also set to redefine success:

“In the NFL nobody knows whats going to happen,” he said. ”We go into a season, and you have to continue to adjust and manage your goals, because we want to go undefeated at home, we want to go undefeated in our division, and that’s not going to happen now. That’s not possible. We have to reassess where we’re at as a team, and I think the bye week is the perfect opportunity to do that. Maybe look and evaluate at what we’re doing, set new goals as to how we’re going to get to the playoffs, and go from there.”

That's a quote from Ryan Fitzpatrick, as noted on the official website. It's fair to assume, with a pair of division losses - and no indication that the Bills have any hope against the Patriots in Foxboro - that winning the division is now off the table. With a pair of losses awaiting the Bills on the other side of the bye week, the playoffs are out of the question as well. Perhaps the Bills will rally around avoiding a losing season or winning just enough games to keep Club Chan in business for another season.

What do you think the goal(s) should be as the Bills come out of the bye week?

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
