As if we need yet another Fitzy post, I may have answered (or partly so) a lingering question I have had about him. How come it is that he has a relatively good QB rating and touchdown total yet fails the eye test this year?

1. Before the titans game Fitzy ranked 29th in passes beyond 20 yards at 4-27.

2. He ranks 31st in average length of all his passes. 7.44 yds per pass.

3. He ranks 32nd in average length of completions only. This is just air time and does not factor in YAC at all.4.83 yds.

He better have a good completion and passer rating with those numbers. I credit a good share of his success inside the red zone with Chan's playcalling. I'm a big fan of his playcalling in that part of the game. As for our starting QB, those are telling statistics. When I look into my crystal ball there is no way I see him starting for this team next year so I'm about done with the frustration. I'm going to focus my attention on the young guys.

The stats for 2 and 3 come from an excellent article by Sal Capaccio on WGR 550. Interesting to look at how various QB's compare in those two stats. Andrew Luck. It's not fair.
