After the New England Patriots took an early 3-0 lead, Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick supplied the home team with outstanding field position - as is his custom - and Stevan Ridley ran the ball in from a yard out to give the Pats a 10-0 lead.
Fitzpatrick was sacked by Vince Wilfork on a play where he held the ball entirely too long, and lost the football immediately after contact. Chandler Jones recovered for the Patriots.
New England's drive was further aided by two pass interference calls on the Bills - a horrible call on George Wilson (on a pass intended for Rob Gronkowski), and an acceptable call against Stephon Gilmore (on a throw to Deion Branch). The Gilmore penalty turned a 3rd & Goal into another 1st & Goal from the one-yard line, and Ridley made the Bills pay.
3:54 now remains in the first quarter, and the Bills are already facing a two-score deficit. Shocker.
