Looking through some old clips I had saved from the preseason, I found this gem of an exchange between local news columnist Jerry Sullivan and a fan during his weekly chat at BuffaloNews.Com.
The online question and answer took place on September 6th, 2012, just prior to the Bills game at The Meadowlands against the New York Jets, where CJ Spiller ran for close to 170 yards in a losing effort.

Comment From Questioner:
"How confident are you with our depth at running back? I'm worried if Freddie Jackson goes down we might lose 10 games again."

Sully:
I don't like Spiller as a featured back, despite what he did late last year. I actually like Choice more as a conventional runner."
Last week, demonstrating that he still has his finger on the pulse of professional football reality, Jerry Sullivan predicted in his weekly video with Mark Gaughn and Tim Graham that the Bills would lose to the Patriots 90-14.
After an impressive if losing performance, now Sullivan is predicting the Bills will win against Miami, though he made no reference as to whether he still thinks Tashard Choice should be starting over CJ Spiller.
Normally, this Award would not be announced until after the completion of the regular season, but given the historic pace of CJ Spiller in running for over seven yards per carry after nine games, this decision has become a no brainer. CJ Spiller is the most dangerous running back on the Buffalo Bills since OJ Simpson.
Every week, Bills fans and the rest of the local and national media want to know why CJ Spiller is not the featured back, or at least receiving the bulk of the carries, not why Tashard Choice is sitting on the bench.
Congratulations Sully, you are the Winner of the 1st Annual SimonPure Worst Bills Media Analyst of the Year Award for your September 6, 2012 preseason assessment of Bills running back CJ Spiller.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
