Thursday night made it pretty apparent that Fred Jackson is an important part of this offense and deserves his carries. CJ Spiller is a playmaker and difference maker when the ball is in his hands. If he has a biggest weakness, it is pass protection. That's why we saw Choice in the red zone so much, especially with the short clock at the end of the first half. Fred Jackson is an excellent pass protector and helps our offense when in that role.
Spiller also pointed out in the post-game show that while he could have taken on more carries, they were limited because he needed breathers. I'd much rather have someone as skilled as Fred Jackson in both the pass and rush out while Spiller rests as opposed to either Choice or keeping Spiller in and running having his play diminish because he needs to sit out a play or two.
Fred Jackson makes this team better and I think he will be a big part of why our red zone offense rebounds next week in Indy.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
