How the Bills will make the playoffs

The Bills have had an up and down season. But luckily for them they find themselves in one of the worst divisions in the NFL, so now they are ranked 2nd in the AFC East.

The Bills actually find themselves with a fairly easy schedule coming up. They play the Colts, Jaguars, Rams, Seahawks, Dolphins, and then the Jets. So the only games I think they would lose are maybe to the Colts and they would lose to the Seahawks. So that would put them at 8-8. Although if they were to beat the Colts that would put the Bills at 9-7. So lets say that the Bills would be 9-7.

Now the Colts lead the AFC Wildcard at 6-3 and the Colts have a hard schedule coming up. The Colts will play the Patriots, Bills, Lions, Titans, Texans, Chiefs, and the Texans again. The Colts have barely won games against the Titans, Dolphins, and the Browns. The Bills have defeated the Dolphins and the Browns and only lost to the Titans by 1 point. So therefore that game will be fairly even but the Bills have a better completion percentage and have a better rushing average then the Colts. Also the Bills have more interceptions, forced fumbles, and sacks then the Colts. With all that in mind I would have to say that the Bills have a better chance of winning that game.

Another key game to getting Buffalo into the playoffs is the Colts vs Titans game. The Bills need the Colts to lose this game to get a shot at the AFC Wildcard. The stats show that the Titans also have a better completion percentage then the Colts and a better rushing average. The Titans also have more interceptions and more forced fumbles. They have also forced the other team back 45 yards off sacks where as the Colts have only pushed their opponents back 23 yards off of sacks. So again the Titans have a better chance of winning the game.

Other teams that could make a push for the Wildcard are the Titans, Bengals, Chargers, and Steelers. Looking at all of the teams schedules this is what I think these teams records will be.

Titans: 8-8
Bengals: 8-8
Chargers: 8-8
Steelers: 11-5
Colts: 7-9
Bills 9-7

With all of this there would only be one team ahead of them which would be the Pittsburgh Steelers. This would put the Bills in the postseason for the first time since 2000.
