Okay gang, it's time for a much-needed new feature here at Buffalo Rumblings, and we're calling it METATHREAD (all caps mandatory and patent pending).
Basically, we're going to be running a weekly discussion thread each Tuesday morning here in the FanPost section that will encompass all things meta: i.e. topics related directly to the blog, and not to the team. We're doing this mostly because there has been popular (read: often times vicious and vehement) demand for it, but also to get these types of tangents out of our discussions about the actual topic of the blog.
Last night provides a perfect example of why we're introducing METATHREAD today: for a time, all SB Nation blogs were experiencing an issue wherein ad blockers were preventing pictures from rendering in select browsers. A few of you conspired in a thread that the network was trying to force advertising on you; that couldn't be further from the truth, of course, but many of you left the blog convinced of it based solely on your conversations in a thread that had nothing to do with that particular topic. Now, you can make your conspiracy theories here. (And that photo issue has been fixed, by the way. But we're obviously out to get you, right?)
It's also worth noting that SB Nation released a new batch of site updates last night that affect the site's footer (you'll see more community stuff there now), some subtle mobile changes (particularly regarding the site header), and tightened up some things in article pages to streamline the reading and commenting experience. If you have any new issues pop up today, let us know here and send an email to email@example.com.
Finally, this is the type of thread that works for other blog-related topics like our editorial tone, our community guidelines and anything else you can think of that is not explicitly related to the Bills or football. Let 'er rip.
