I really appreciate that you had responded to a couple of my earlier emails and I feel bad abusing that privilege by venting but I'm just a passionate fan who wants desperately to see us win again.
I had a couple follow up comments on the spread. It made sense when Chan first got here and we didn't have a lot of offensive talent that the spread was a way to get the ball out quickly and pass to open up the run.
Today's team is so very different. You've assembled a strong O-line, two good backs with one a superstar, and a really good TE. Not by accident, we look a lot like the Chargers circa 2005 or today's Texans. Therefore, we should be going to more of a conventional offense where we lean on our two great backs especially Spiller, lean on the TE for short passing and use play action to get the ball to Stevie.
Instead, we continually go 5-wides exposing our lack of depth at WR and giving two young OTs zero help. Plus, teams have taken away the short routes and Fitz struggles down the field. It just doesn't make sense. The way the D is playing a conventional offense can get us where we need to be - Chan needs to adjust!
