The Bills of the Future

Hey Everyone I have taken a break from posting on this site, mostly because the Bills have made me naucious this year. There has been a lot of talk about who exactly is too blame for our current situation. I am not going to discuss coaches, playcalling or who or who didn't get signed to the Bills. Instead I am going to focus on the three area's of the Bills that I feel need the most improvement. In my eyes the LB's, CB's and QB are the biggest problems with the Buffalo Bills. I will detail each of the three below.

LB- I decided to list LB first simply because I feel it needs the most improvement. Barnett has been playing solid so SLB gets a pass in my book. MLB is the area that needs upgrading. I was a huge proponate of Sheppard coming out of LSU; to be blunt, I was wrong. He can't shed blocks and make tackles in the run game, and can't cover playmakers in the passing game. He has 41 tackles this year, 41!? Not what you need out of a Wannstedt defense. Patrick Willis, the stardard for a MLB, has 68 which is below his average. If you stretch that average out to a whole year Sheppard is on pace for 82 well Willis is on pace for 136. The number seems a lot bigger over the course of a year. This all being said I think that we can get a serviceable MLB in FA, or rounds 2-4 of the draft.

QB- Uhh, where to start. Fitzpatrick has broken my heart. I was in his corner all the way up to about game 3 of this season. Here's how I see it. Fitzpatrick is a streaky QB who relies on luck to make his throws over 10 yards. I'm sorry Fitzy supporters but when I see him cock his arm back to throw I get nervouse everytime. He hasn't played a complete game this whole season. He might have had his best game last season and he didn't score a single TD. I know that the WR's dropped some passes but he missed some throws too. Plain and simple he misses too many easy throws and seemingly every long throw. He limits our entire offense. Houston Stacked the box to discourage us from running and blatenly challenged Fitzy to beat us through the air. He didn't meet the challenge. No one can honestly tell me that Manning, Brady, Brees, Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, heck even Luck would have only scored 9 points against that Texans team loading the box. We need to at least TRY and get a franchise QB. Before your say it I know we might miss with our pick and have to try again in 2-3 years. Oh well. A great man once told me "You have to want to win more than your afraid to lose" That man? Jim Kelly. Bottom Line, we need to get a franchise guy in the draft, NO MATTER WHAT. I'll let the people who get paid figure out who that player is. Trade up, trade down I don't care how just show me that baby.

CB-Simplly put they have not been good. Aaron Williams has bee the worst starting CB in the league. Time to move him to SS to take over for Wilson, who has also been a disappointment. I know Gilmore will improve but he is also taking his lumps this season. I think he will be a lot better next year. I liked Ron Brooks a lot I think he can develop into an outside starter for us. I think if we resign McKelvin to play in nickel and dime packs and draft another CB in the 3-4 round we can make due until we can afford another high pick in the backfield.

So that's it, thats how I would go about fixing the Bills. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
