Spiller, Jackson lead Bills over Jaguars

C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson paced the Buffalo Bills on a day when the weather helped both defenses.

Spiller's 44-yard TD Put Bills Up 34-10

Several shots on television and tweets from media members have discussed how unhappy C.J. Spiller looked on the sidelines as the Bills leaned on Fred Jackson in today's game. After his last run, Spiller might be a little happier.

Spiller took a hand-off at the Jaguars' 44-yard line and when he found no room on the left, cut it back to the left side and took it to the house fighting off two defenders inside the 15. Spiller did most of the work by himself as the safety and defensive end crashed to the defensive left side where the play was designed to go. Wide receiver T.J. Graham got just enough of his cornerback to give Spiller the lane to pay dirt.

With the long touchdown, Buffalo is up 34-10 with a lot of time left in the fourth. Jacksonville's offense has been pretty poor all day and the Bills have this game all but wrapped up.

Bills Up 27-10 After Three Quarters

The Buffalo Bills scored 10 points in the final two minutes of the first half and had the benefit of getting the ball back at halftime. They responded by marching down the field aided by a roughing the passer penalty on a crucial third down to score another touchdown.

Ryan Fitzpatrick found Stevie Johnson two plays after planted by defensive end Jason Babin. Babin left his feet, propelling himself into Fitzpatrick's chest and was flagged. Fred Jackson and Brad Smith both had key runs on the drive that put Buffalo up 24-10.

The Jaguars were able to move the ball on their next possession but couldn't complete a fourth down pass inside Buffalo's 40-yard line. The Bills took the nice field position and ran Fred Jackson over and over again setting up a 50-yard field goal by Rian Lindell. You read that right - Chan Gailey attempted a 50-yard field goal - and now the Bills lead 27-10.

The Bills have lost the services of Leodis McKelvin, Stevie Johnson, and Chris Hairston to injuries. The Bills have the ball at the start of the fourth quarter and look to put this game away with another long scoring drive.

Bills 7, Jaguars 0 At End of First Quarter

The weather is sloppy and fans are dressed as empty seats but the Buffalo Bills went out and struck first in their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After forcing the Jaguars to go three and out on their first series, Ryan Fitzpatrick scrambled for a first down before hitting rookie T.J. Graham - getting his first NFL start in place of the injured Donald Jones - for a 51-yard pass play. Two plays later Fitzpatrick punched it in from the one-yard line.

Leodis McKelvin has been shaken up with a tight back and Crezdon Butler has been playing meaningful snaps. Butler was signed off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad just a few weeks ago. McKelvin came out of the locker room near the end of the first quarter but has not returned to the game.

Chad Henne has been erratic for the Jaguars on offense. We'll update as the game progresses.
