marty ball has proven over and over again to turn perennial losing franchises into perennial playoff teams in a hurry. it worked in cleveland, kansas city, and san diego and would have worked in washington had he been given more than 1 season. the reason i believe that it will only take 1 season in buffalo is because i think that this team has more talent than any of his previous teams when he took over.
marty needs only 5 more wins to pass chuck noll for 5th place all-time in nfl history. had the chargers not fired him after going 14-3 in 2006, he would be in 3rd place by now behind shula and halas, and the chargers would have entered this season as 6 time defending afc west champions on their way to a wild card this season.
the knock against him is that he can't win in the playoffs, but at least his teams almost always get there. he deserves and wants another opportunity and i think that the bills are the perfect fit. the offense is ahead of the defense and defense is his forte. i would not be surprised if this was a top 10 defense next season under schott.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
