Brad Smith Wildcat TD Puts Bills Up On Jets, 21-9

The Buffalo Bills have taken a commanding 21-9 lead on the New York Jets in the fourth quarter of today's season finale, and they did it by taking a page out of Tony Sparano's purported play book for Tim Tebow: Brad Smith scored on a four-yard run out of the Wildcat formation.

Smith's touchdown capped off a seven-play, 80-yard scoring drive keyed by a gorgeous 37-yard reception from Stevie Johnson. In making that catch, Johnson surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for a third consecutive season; he's the first Bills receiver in team history to reach that achievement.

Buffalo's third score came after the conclusion of an ugly third quarter that featured three missed field goals. Two of those came off of the right foot of Rian Lindell, who missed first from 50 yards out, then from 46 after a Mark Sanchez fumble was recovered by Nigel Bradham. Prior to that, Nick Folk had a short field goal blocked by Marcell Dareus; that kick would've made it 14-12 Buffalo.

Instead, the Bills have a two-score lead against a terrible Jets offense with just under 11 minutes remaining. They have a very good chance of finishing 6-10 for a second straight year.
