I have a request for your upcoming broadcast of the Buffalo Bills vs. St. Louis Rams game:
Please -- review the NFL Network's coverage of the Nov. 15th game of the Bills vs. Dolphins.
THAT was how a televised NFL game should be.
- no thousand commercials following every kickoff/punt
- no archival footage of the last time the Bills opponent defeated them {regardless of how many decades ago that occurred}
- no Dan Dierdorf -- period
- no ten-year-old stock footage during commercial cuts of Niagara Falls or a guy shaking wings
They were even -- dare I say it -- inventive: they incorporated graphics of both teams' logos into nighttime shots of downtown Buffalo's skyline.
I have to ask you, Fox, because it's already too late for CBS: when I saw the following week's Bills game vs. the Colts, not only was I forced to see much of the above listed, but was also treated to the rather disturbing spectacle of two Colts cheerleaders getting their heads shaved . . . I get that it was for cancer research, and understand that bald women are a fetish for some . . . but FCTFOL . . . they showed them before the haircut . . . during the haircut . . . and after the haircut . . . for at least ten minutes -- time away from the GAME they paid to broadcast. Was that really necessary?
It wasn't much better in the Jags game: I realize a game between a 4-7 and a 2-9 team isn't exactly riveting (especially since it wasn't sold out), but still -- I had to see shots of a half-empty stadium through a raindrop-soaked camera lens . . . you'd think a network that's paying $3.73 BILLION for broadcast rights could afford lens tissue . . .
So it's up to you, Fox. There's gotta be a way to enjoy a Bills broadcast -- other than watching with the sound off . . .
.
