Snoozer Alert: Bills Up On Rams 3-0 After One Quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

Sam Bradford has six yards passing and the St. Louis Rams have negative-one yards rushing in the first quarter. Still, the Buffalo Bills lead them only 3-0 at the end of the first.

The Buffalo Bills had two very nice drives in the first half on the arm of Ryan Fitzpatrick. C.J. Spiller took a 3rd-and-13 screen and turned it into a first down on the first scoring drive after the teams traded three three-and-outs. It stalled inside the 20 and Rian Lindell nailed a field goal to get points on the board.

On Buffalo's second drive into the Rams' red zone, Fred Jackson fumbled as the first quarter expired, ending a drive that saw Fitzpatrick hit Scott Chandler and Stevie Johnson for big gains.

Buffalo's defense has been the story, so far. Mario Williams and Alex Carrington shared a sack and the Rams gained only 7 yards on any single drive. Jairus Byrd was knocked from the game early but returned late in the first quarter despite a leg contusion.
