Desired Defense of 2012
With the fabulous transition to a 4-3 defense, our approach to free agency, as well as the draft will take a big turn. I am real excited to rely on generating a major pass rush from our DEs as many are available in free agency, and a solid one will be there at number ten. Here is your starting Bills defense of 2012 (desired). Lets do it folks....2012 is our year and we will do it big in both the draft and free agency (I know Buddy Nix is thinking big...I feel it).
DE: Mario Williams- We put out a butt load of money for the guy, but its completely worth it as we have a full time quarterback crusher and a dude who will make Brady take a giant dump in his pants when in the pocket... LOOK AT THAT LINE....BEST IN THE NFL MY FRIENDS (hypothetically, but a reason to get excited because its realistic).
DT: Marcell Dareus
DT: Kyle Williams
DE: Quentin Coples- We draft Coples at number 10 and get our stud DE of the future to learn from a star in Mario Williams to help Coples perform to his maximum potential....and thats big potential my friends....the scouts dont lie and nor does his size...Coples is the deal.
WLB: Kelvin Sheppard
MLB: Nick Barnett
SLB: Demario Davis- Our 4th/5th round draft pick is a solid one as he solidifies our 4-3 front 7 to perfection. Our front 7 is coming for ya Brady, Matt Moore, and Sanchez (Ew) (hopefully not Peyton too, but if Peyton plays us two times a year, well give him some serious pressure). Davis (who some say is a lesser Derrick Brooks) gives us the ability to have a solid pass rush at outside linebacker to compliment our stud DEs.
CB: Aaron Williams/ Jarrett Bush (cut Mcgee and Florence that would be so awesome)
FS: Jairus Byrd
SS: George Wilson
CB: Chase Minnifield- Our 2nd round pick is our corner opposite Aaron Williams to make a real solid cornerback duo. Expect Rogers to get solid time to prove himself as well, but Minnifield has the tools to be a real solid corner in the bigs.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I still think
theres a good chance Coples off the board before we pick.
But obviously I’d be happy with that defense.

yeah
I really want Coples man. Lavonte David would be so awesome in the second. I think David has serious breakout potential, especially on our D. If Coples doesn’t fall to us, consider Perry, Upshaw, Burficit, Kuechly, or Hightower (all based on the combine and suck uk bro)

If we can sign Mario Williams
then I am 100% behind drafting Coples and finishing making a dynastic defense this offseason. With the two Williams’, you have 5 more years of dominant production. With Dareus and Coples, you have 10-15 more years. This would put us in a position to easily rotate in new impressive talent rather than always reaching for someone who isn’t as good.

Only 2 problems here
Barnett is not an MLB in the Cowboys style 4-3 We will play. He is the WIL. She pard will be MLB
And if we sign a real pass rushing DE then our greatest need will be CB in draft
I see I see
If we do in fact snag Mario Williams, then Kirkpatrick should be considered. Im hooked on Lavonte David..hes exactly what we need to solidify our linebacker core

I voted yes, though I did it only because of Mario Williams
I don’t want Coples or David. Coples is a boom-or-bust pick. I question his work ethic, and for me, you can’t have issues about the work ethic of a first round pick.
David is way undersized. Give me DeMarrio Davis over David. Similar mobility but more bulk.

I like that
You think he could be an immediate starter? I love Davis as a prospect.

on this defense? yes. demario davis would be an immediate starter.
all that you really need to do to scratch david off ur ‘sam linebacker’ list is look at his height/weight. david is going to need to be on the weakside in the pros, or play a bryan scott nickel linebacker sort of role
Its fun to think quarterback, but i think the odds of nix taking one in the first are close to 0%.
I think Davis has a way better shot in Buffalo’s 4-3 than David. David is a run-and-hit weakside 4-3 linebacker. Think of a lesser Derrick Brooks. A way lesser Derrick Brooks. But same type of game.

sold
I shall throw Demario Davis into my SAM spot….and a corner in the second!

i chose not to vote
because I feel similarly. I won’t say yes, because I don’t really think this is all that realistic. I won’t say no, because, of course I would love a front 7 that features not only Super Mario, but a high round prospect. i am holding out for Curry in the second, and Floyd in the first, and that would basically make this scenario impossible for what “I” would like.

Kind of similar thoughts from me
I’d like Buffalo to go Tannehill in the first, then either Curry or Chandler Jones in the second.
But, not the scenario presented….

I think
I’d take Upshaw over Coples.
Coples’ lack of a work ethic really scares me. But, that arm brand he has is badasssss
Don't forget Moats
Arthur Moats could be a cog in the defense as an OLB, if the coaches stop moving him back and forth.
