Bills need talent transfusion for switch in scheme - The Buffalo News
"It's a lot more about the 'who' than the 'how' when it comes to the Buffalo Bills' switch to a 4-3 defense this season. Who they can add to the defense will be far more important in determining their success than how they line up."
For one night amidst war, Whitney Houston made nation cry - Sporting News

Explaining the Hall Voting - Peter King

Bills fans call on FCC to end game blackouts - The Buffalo News
"They’ve been arriving by mail in bunches for weeks at the Federal Communications Commission office in Washington, D.C. Hand-scrawled letters and notes by passionate football fans pleading with federal officials to end the nearly 40- year practice by the National Football League of blacking out televised feeds of unsold-out games."

Bills | Used five defensive backs frequently - NFL Hot off the Wire
"I watched (the Houston Texans), and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is probably the granddaddy of the 3-4 right now, and at least 50 percent of the time they had four down-linemen," Nix said. "So I'm not so sure that it matters."

St. Louis Rams Free Agent Options: Demetrius Bell - Turf Show Times
"Bell was part of an offensive line this year that was credited for helping the Bills start off very hot and allowing Ryan Fitzpatrick to pick apart defenses like he can pick apart a SAT test. Not surprisingly, the Bills started their decline soon after he left the field for the season."
Monday Morning Quarterback - Peter King
Steve Tasker of the Bills was on the opposite sideline. "She hit it out of the park,'' he said. "I'm an anthem enthusiast. I like to listen to them and judge them, and there's never been one like that. I remember looking around when it was over. I looked in the stands and saw fans waving their little American flags with one hand and wiping tears away with the other. I looked over and saw Jim Kelly and Marv [Levy] wiping away tears. And I'm standing right near one of the officials that day, Larry Nemmers -- and he's wiping his eyes. Amazing.''

Hey King
Why don’t you explain why all the Cris Carter detractors work in the media? Perhaps b/c he was very friendly with you guys and works at ESPN? He retired as the #2 statistical receiver of ALL-TIME!!!

I didn’t mean the word detractors….I meant whatever word is the opposite of detractors…..especially the ESPN personalities.

And another thing
1. This guy is from California and calls it a snub: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2012/2/4/2771722/andre-reed-stats-2012-pro-football-hall-of-fame-snub/in/2535341
2. I’m sure that if Cortez Kennedy, Willie Roaf, or Demontti Dawson hadn’t made the Hall people from all around the country would email you b/c they felt so passionate about him that they would take the time. That argument is just dumb. You only feel passionate to email about someone you were a fan of. Only makes sense that people from Buffalo would feel passionate about Reed. Still, in a different era the stats listed in the link above appears to make him a slam dunk (IMO).
3. Don’t worry Peter, you’ll get a chance to vote for Brett soon enough.

Okay
Now that I’ve read all the links that interest me this will be my last non-reply comment on this post!
The blackout article misses the whole point. Rep. Higgins goes with the “poor Buffalo” defense. I’m sick of this. They sold out when they were good. If they were still division leaders in early December, at least 2 of those games sell out. My least favorite parts of the rule is that the radius for blackouts is too big and that the cut off should be on Saturday.

They sold out when they were good.
The greatest Comeback in NFL History wasn’t sold out and that was a playoff game. So they didn’t always sell out when they were good.
The point comes down to taxpayers paying for stadiums and then not being able to see the teams housed in them.

I said at least 2….not always. Especially w/ the playoff drought, you don’t think Dec. games sell out if they are the division leader at that point?

I’m saying it’s not a direct correlation.

You have to realize the economy in Buffalo is vastly different in 2012 than it was in 1992. Don’t underestimate the demise of Kodak and now Xerox when considering these things.

Yes, but again, when do the sellout fail to occur generally? When the team is out of it and people don’t want to shell out their money to freeze and watch a team w/ no shot.

They were dealt a tough schedule this past year. There was a point where they weren’t home for nearly a month, and that’s exactly when the wheels started to fall off. Then they get 3 home games in December. The holidays really limit what people can spend in terms of money and time in a losing team’s stadium.

That last part is exactly it. If the team is still competitive on December, this isn’t as big of a problem. It might still be a problem, but not a “Hey look how many blackouts the Bills have” kind of problem.
I have been to 1 Bills game in the last 4 seasons. I got free tickets. That’s b/c I decided I’m not going to spend a lot of money (and to me it is a lot) to go to a game if I don’t think the organization is committed to winning instead of committed to trying to get me to think they are committed to winning. This offseason will provide a little window into that. Maybe I’m alone here, but I guarantee that if the Bills seem to make solid moves this offseason, I’m probably trying to pick a game or two to try to go to with my buddies. If not, then I’ll wait and see how the season goes before I decide. As you said, last year just as I thought I might go to a game, I had a month to evaluate before the next home game and the team started looking horrid and I decided to save my money. My point wasn’t that the economy plays no role, just that if the Bills were good, a lot of people would decide to save money in other areas so they could go to a Bills game or two.

Steve Tasker's comments on Whitney
Truely moving, that is a moment during a career that is worth everything he experienced. It is what it is all about as an American, the love for our country and countrymen.

I just heard on Mike & Mike today that Whitney’s SB performance was lip-sync’d. I can’t believe I never knew this before today.

90% of the superbowl national.anthems are pre recorded. If I remember right they did play a recording over the pa but she actually sang also.

Right. Most professionals that lip sync are singing but their mic is turned off. I just could not tell that recording wasn’t live. We all know that Christina Aguilera’s was, and for that alone I commend her.

She sang it live into a dead mike. That’s why it looked like she was singing and her lip was quivering. The guys could hear her on the sidelines and they say she nailed it live, too.

So hey!
I was just reading on bb.com about David Clowney and I got to thinking, if he’s legit and has a break out year, and we resign Stevie, then that means we have a Joker and a Clown! How awesome would that be??

If we do that.
The Bills could get The Insane Clown Posse to sing the National Anthem at a home game.
