"IF" we made Fred Jackson available, who would want him and what might we get ?
im not the first to mull over the possibility of trading fred jackson but i thought id create my own post one that polls viewers on possible trade compensation if we did put fred on the block. personally i dont see it happening but if they got a high enough offer it would be silly not to consider shipping fred out if it meant being able to fill an extra need with a talented young rookie. keep in mind we still have many glaring needs to fill and if you think this team is gonna go out and snaffle up marquee free agents and use up some of that huge cap space we could have then you dont know this team. also we have a very capable replacement if fred were to leave, no CJ cant do everything fred can, but he brings a lot and i think gailey has proven now that he just isnt capable of getting production out of both these guys at once, he couldnt do it even when our WRs were dropping like flies. i guarantee if we hang onto both these guys one of them is gonna be very unhappy this time next year, do we risk losing possibly the next marshall faulk or ladanian tomlinson in spiller by having him ride the pine until his rookie contract runs out or do we bite the bullet and deal fred now and develop a young WR or OLB or whatever and watch fred make a couple pro bowls in a different uniform. like i said i dont think it will happen, Nix's bartering ability leaves a lot to be desired, its as if hes afraid or reluctant to haggle with other GMs, if there ever was a time he shouldve made a trade it was before drafting spiller, there wasnt a player of need worth picking at number 9 so they went ahead and drafted a position at which we were already stacked, which brings us to our current predicament. im intersted to know what people think we could get in a trade, also you can speculate in the comments section about who might want him
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

i dont think jackson is your typical 31 yr old runner tho, the general consensus is that he has a good few years ahead of him, also teams that were trading for him would surely have a new contract worked out with him before the deal was finalized. the injury is a minor concern but if it heals as expected youve got one of the best backs in the league whos been rested since mid season.
People usually say he is 31 but he does not have the miles. Well he does have a lot of miles on his tires. Its just not in a conventional manner. He was the work horse in an arena league then he was leading the nfl europe for a few years then he came here. His body has wear and tear and he is on the wrong end of 30. No team will offer you anything worth trading him.

He played 18 games in 2 years in the arena league, and ran for a total of 730 yards in NFL Europe. He certainly does not have the mileage of the normal 31 year old NFL back.

I would engineer a five-way trade...
I’d consider trading Fred Jackson to the Detroit Lions, and for nothing less than:
-Calvin Johnson and a first round pick
-a first round pick from each the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers for the privilege of playing on the same field as Fred Jackson twice a year.

or trade Fred
fto the Colts. We get Payton Manning and the 1st ovrl pick. That’s fair.

The Giants would be smart to want Fred Jackson.

I know Ted Thompson isn't a big FA/trade guy
but Fred Jackson would complete the Packers offense and make it nigh unstoppable.
Top 3 QB.
Very good WRs in Jennings and Nelson, with potential in Cobb.
Good pass-catching mismatch TE in Jermichael Finley.
Crap RBs.
Switch crap RBs with a RB that has great vision, is good at catching passes, and is a good pass-blocker and you have the perfect RB for spread formations.
Opponents send extra guys back into zone coverage? Let Freddy gash them on short dump offs. Opponent sends extra guys up to the line of scrimmage? Gash them through the air with Rodgers to Jennings/Nelson/Finley.

and didn’t read the post. Assuming this is just an attempt to rehash J2’s thread of epicness (is that even a word?).
