With free agency, as well as the draft lingering our minds by the minute, theres no denying Buddy Nix has a lot of holes to fill this offseason. That is not a reason to lose hope though, as the free agent class is filled with talent (as of now), and the draft is looking nice for us (9 total picks). We are in a position to improve our squad by actually spending out money...We all have a desired linebacker corps, pass rush situation, wide receievers, etc., but I am going to break down all of the above according to my desires. This will be according to how we do in free agency, and our draft picks. LET THE DESIRES BREAK FREE! CHHHHHYEA!
DE: Melvin Ingram QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick
DT: Kyle Williams WR: Marques Colston
SLB: Dont'a Hightower RT: Erik Pears
There you have it...we decide to get rid of Stevie Johnson, Terrence Mcgee, Dwan Edwards, and Spencer Johnson as we free up cap space. We end up signing a wideout who is more proven than Stevie, if not a less proven but with a higher upside. We retain Chandler and Fredex.
Whats realistic about this: Jeremy Mincey is definitely a realistic signing, Melvin Ingram could be our pick at #10, Dont'a Hightower could be around in the 2nd, Brandon Carr could decide to play in Buffalo and we give him a nice contract, and Marques Colston may not be re-signed by the Saints making him a possibility to replace Stevie.
