Vincent Jackson expected to hit open market
What are everyone's thoughts on the Bills pursuing Vincent Jackson? V-Jax across from Stevie would be pretty amazing, assuming Stevie is re-signed

Jackson is a speedy deep threat and I dont know if Fitz has the deep ball accuracy to really make Jackson the weapon he is now with Rivers throwing to him. IF (and that is a huge if) he decides to comes here I could see his production falling way off. I would rather have the Bills go after one of the WRs from Indy this year and try to land a big WR in the 1st or 2d round of the draft next year, which I think will be fairly deep at WR.
Jackson’s like 9 feet tall. I think he’s exactly the kind of receiver Nix wants on this offense.

he is the nix prototype
he’s everything nix wishes donald jones or david nelson or marcus easley could be
nothing against those guys, just sayin’.
Well Donald Jones anyway...
We haven’t seen really any of Easley to know for sure, and Nelson is kinda exactly what he wants in a slot/3rd…

Agreed – I think V Jax is the type of receiver that Fitz just needs to get the ball in his general area and let him go get it. I would definitely prefer this signing to pinning hopes on a draft pick, especially one next year. Let’s make it happen. I think a Stevie-type WR is easier to replace vs. a V-Jax type (which we don’t have to begin with)

I think the Rams will pursue him heavily.

If OBD works hard enough we can have an offense of Jacksons and a defense of Williams.

But Stevie's last name is Johnson

Jacksons – Fred, Vincent, DeSean, Tavaris, Rashawn, Andrew, Steven.
BTW did not mean to imply all eleven on each side with same name. Just as a predominate one.

I figured Fred and Vincent.....I was trying to say I want OBD to sign Stevie

It happened to the Bengals a few years ago with Johnsons.

I don't see it
Even with Buffalo saying they will spend to the cap, I don’t see how they can get V-Jax and M. Williams to come here. I think we would be lucky to get R. Mathis and D. Bowe and I wouldn’t mind that at all. They will come slightly cheaper and would still make us a lot better than we are now.
Is there still any Merriman/Nix magic for recruiting SD players?
Mario would be my first pursuit if I was at OBD but there is NO WAY I see Williams actually coming here. V Jax grew up and played college ball in CO so at least he is used to hunkering down in the cold and getting it done. I would make Mario a very fair offer just to say we tried, but then switch quickly to V Jax and pull out all the connections and top tier $$ to try to get him here. He’sl only 29 yrs young and probably a more realistic get than Mario.
