Kamerion Wimbley

Ok so news broke a few hours ago stating if Kamerion Wimbley doesn't take a pay cut then he will be cut by Raider's management. Let's face it, the guy probably won't take a pay cut and neither would any of us, unless we grew up in that town, played college within that state and spent our entire career playing for that team which just so happens to be a dynasty.

For those of you unfamiliar, Wimbley is a consistent starter who has shined in both the Raider's and Brown's defenses over the past 6 seasons at the OLB position.

I'm not sure if Wimbley is worth the lucrative contract he signed when Al Davis was alive and clearly neither do the Raiders. However, I think it's safe to say the guy has some pass rushing ability and is an instant upgrade over any DE/OLB we currently have on our roster besides Nick Barnett. For a guy who is 28 (same age as Merriman) and has no career threatening ailments, our good ole boy Buddy may be inclined to have a look-see if the opportunity presents itself based on the difficulty he's had thus far in securing Kirk Morrison's services at the SAM position. Not to mention, Wimbley is listed at 6'4'' and 255 lbs, and could be used as an emergency 3rd down DE at the very least.

Since the negotiations with Morrison are on-going and are somewhat hopeful but not really productive, should CHIX open up the checkbook and give the guy a look? What say you fellow rumblers?

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
