On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Buffalo Bills were one of three teams talking to free agent wide receiver Mario Manningham of the New York Giants. Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, however, the Bills will not be the first team to host Manningham on a free agent visit. That distinction belongs to the San Francisco 49ers.
Along with the Bills and 49ers, the Miami Dolphins are also said to be interested in pursuing Manningham on the open market. The Dolphins are looking to replace Brandon Marshall; the 49ers are looking for Randy Moss insurance; and the Bills are looking for a No. 2 receiver after losing out on Robert Meachem.
While the Bills are apparently interested in Manningham, their clear focus remains on completing a deal with Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams. Right now, all other concerns are secondary - so don't be surprised if Manningham strikes up a deal with another team while the Bills try to finish things up with an elite pass rusher.
