"I talked to Aaron Scobel last also considering coming out of retirement for one year just thought I should mention," Florence writes.
It's not clear what Florence meant by the tweet. Sure, he could be saying that Schobel told him he was considering coming out of retirement for a year. It's also possible that Florence talked to Schobel about that possibility, which would mean nothing insofar as Schobel's thought process goes. Florence also could have been kidding. Ah, the joys of Twitter.
Schobel, who will turn 35 on September 1, last appeared for the Bills in 2009, choosing to retire just before training camp prior to the 2010 season - the first year of the Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey regime. The Bills later released Schobel that summer, so if he does decide to return to the gridiron, Buffalo does not own his rights, and would therefore need to sign him to a new deal. For that reason, we're mentally sweeping this idea under the rug. But a defensive line with an in-shape Schobel as the final piece of the puzzle is certainly interesting to ponder.
