Get your buzzkill fix here

I admit it. I chuckle every time I log onto Rumblings anymore. The outpouring or optimism is crazy. Abayarde has even whipped out two new posts that have been rec'd into the upper echelons of the fanpost section, laced with capitol letters that apparently fires you all up. I myself can't understand 3/4 of what any of them say but I guess that is part of their appeal. Lost in all of this optimism is really three major concerns:

1) Mario Williams, while very talented, has only played in 18 games in the last two seasons, 5 games last year and only 13 the year before that. Is anybody else concerned that we just gave the richest contract in NFL history for a defensive player to a guy with that injury history? I mean the Bills have been devastated by the injury bug the last few years and now rather then load up on solid veteran depth they put almost all of their eggs in Williams' basket.

2) Williams new linemate, Mark Anderson, he of the new $27.5 million dollar contract has never been anything but a rotational guy. Yes I know Brian just posted an article on that very subject. I know that Buddy and Chan view him as a 3 down guy, but the fact that they think he can do it and the fact that he has never done it are two different things. Even if he does win the spot that means the Bills are paying Kelsay and Merriman for what? The Bills don't have Dallas Cowboys or Washington Redskins money. They need to make sure they are spending wisely and I am not sure they have done that, but time will tell.

3) And this is really the most important concern. Outside of Williams and Anderson this is still the same team that lost 10 games last year. There are still holes at TE, OLB, LT, CB, WR, and lets not forget that QB depth is a concern as I am not sure anyone views Fitz as the long term answer. Are the Bills going to be able to accomplish all that in the draft? Not sure they are myself.

What happens to this team if Mario gets hurt in week 3? Not sure it was such a great idea to dump all those eggs into a single basket. I would have rather they went and spread the love a little more.Time will tell, but enjoy yourselves while you can Bills fans.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
