Nix on Sirius Radio Today - LT Discussion

Stay connected for news and updates

Buddy was on talking this afternoon and had some interesting things to say. The thing that really got my attention was when they asked him about left tackle. He talked about Bell and it seemed that he was anticipating him NOT being back. So they asked him about Hairston. Buddy said he feels Hairston can handle the LT job this year and he is "not worried about it."

But, then they asked him about LT in the draft. He said that they'd like to get a LT that could start right away and also get another LT later that they could develop. So, by stating that he wanted one that could start right away seemed to contradict his statement about having confidence in Hairston.

They asked him about the #10 pick and if he saw LTs there that could step in and play right away. He mentioned that there were 2-3 that fit that mold and that they might not be the same people everyone is talking about. So I thought that was interesting and it led me to think about Cordy Glenn and Mike Adams as guys Nix might be higher on than guys like Martin and Reiff. Pat Kirwan actually said "don't tell us who they are", so Nix is definitely intimating that there are some sleepers that they like at LT in round 1.

He then mentioned that he thought tackles were deep in this draft and thought there were guys he could get later in the draft (he actually said rounds 2-3) that could learn for a year and then start next year.

So, that being said, it led me to believe that they are leaning towards LT in round one, but it might not be any of the big names that we are expecting to hear. For some reason I am thinking Cordy Glenn is the guy they like a lot. He's big, strong, athletic and versatile. Being a UGA fan, I question if he can come in an start at LT right away though. But Buddy knows better than I do.

Just wanted to pass along that information as we all know Buddy is a pretty straight shooter.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
