One of the most intriguing situations in regards to the Buffalo Bills Free Agents is that of TE Scott Chandler. I thought that Scott Chandler was an absolute shoe in for re-signing given that Buddy was the guy who drafted him in San Diego back in 2007.
The lack of progress in his negotiations coupled with comments that I read Buddy made in regards to Chandler something to the effect that Chandler had only caught 1 pass in the NFL prior to this year - makes me think that Scott & his agent are thinking too big for this next contract. I guess I can't blame them, when guys like Gronk, Finley, Davis are changing the perception of the position. Actually NE is transforming that position into a very relevant one that might command much more $$ in the upcoming years.
I think Scott needs to take a step back and realize that he had never gotten any opportunity elsewhere and that he owes Buffalo a hometown discount. If he's smart he signs a 2 year reasonable deal and let's NE and Gronk/Hernandez revolutionize the position and capitalize then.
At this point, I believe the best Free Agent TE that we should be targeting is Marcellus Bennett, who I believe will get to hit Free Agency. He's never really done much in Dallas mainly because he's playing behind Witten. At 6'6" and 270lbs he is a monster TE. A converted Basketball star, Bennett came out of College with a ton of potential. Here are a few of the scouting reports:

Bleacher report (after his 2nd year)
I believe that this guy fits Chix to a glove and he should be targeted by Nix in Free Agency. In a perfect world Chandler would come back on a 2y deal and we'd sign Bennett to a 4-5 year deal. Having two 6'7" teradactyls to throw to would definitely be helpful in the redzone.
