I decided that instead of looking at the dozens upon dozens of mock drafts I would look at what people posted one year ago about who we should draft and the initial responses on who was drafted.
- So far, I saw someone mention Kelvin Sheppard in the 2nd round. I was pleased to see the right player, but just not the right time.
- Brian has great insight into the Bills Front Office. I'm still considered new to this page, so I don't know the history of people on this blog. It was nice to confirm Brian's intelligence.
- A big debate is that if we were going to draft a CB in the 2nd round it was between Aaron Williams and Brandon Harris. The Bills DEFINITELY made the right move with Williams. Harris is pretty much a bust. He's 3rd/4th on the Texans' depth chart. Rotoworld: " Harris had no role in Houston's secondary, and coaches felt he didn't run downfield fast enough to contribute on kick and punt coverage. Undersized with a 4.53 forty time, Harris probably won't be viewed as future starter by the Texans."
- a) Testing positive for drugs does make a player's stock drop. Justin Houston (whom many Bills fans were hoping we'd draft in the 2nd round) dropped from a late-1st round prospect to 70th overall. But, he did get 5.5 sacks, 56 total tackles, and 4 pass deflections. His sack total just came from 3 games though.
b) Mike Adams (OT) could easily be available in the 2nd round. I'm not too high on him (no pun intended lol) for two reasons: I don't like his injury history and I'm not confident he can be a good LT. Bobbie Massie has also been brought up, but he projects as a RT. If we go LT in the 2nd round keep an eye out for Kelechi Osemele. He's a true LT with some upside. Oh and he plays pretty consistently at LT, but also is able to play guard if needed.
