Fred Jackson - Number 83 of 100

After almost a year of stalking this blog, I have finally decided to make a somewhat significant contribution. This is my first FanPost, so we'll see how this goes.

While watching the second episode of the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2012, which revealed players 90-81, I was shocked to learn that Freddy was number 83. Don't get me wrong, I was overjoyed at the fact that he was simply on the list - not one Bills player was on the Top 100 of 2011. However, I was displeased with his ranking on the list. Injury and all, I think he should have been ranked higher, much much higher. Before his season ending injury occured during Week 11, he was 3rd in the entire NFL in rushing yards, 2nd in total yards from the line of scrimmage, and was certainly up for the MVP award. Jackson also exemplified himself as one of the most efficient receiving runningbacks in the league, and was extremely versatile due to his newly surfaced playmaking ability. And people have to remember this - Jackson did this all at age 31, and in his first year carrying the load full time in the NFL. Personally, I think he should have been in the low 40's, possibly the 30's. If this guy played the whole year, he certainly would have made the Pro Bowl, and probably would have accumulated other prestigious honors (MVP...). And I think we can all agree that if he had remained healthy, our season would have ended in a completely different fashion, and definitely for the better.

So what I ask you guys is simply this - where do you think Fred should be ranked?

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
