I remember after making a series of suspect decisions prior to the start of the season, Gailey said something to the effect of "this probably won't be the final roster we start with week 1."
Since that time, the only thing we've seen even remotely close to real changes to the lineup is the re-signing of Johnny White for about 4 weeks while Fred Jackson is gone. Despite Chan saying Graham was "not ready yet," now he's OK with putting him in week 2.
It just seems like lately Gailey has been doing a whole lot of smoke-blowing. I keep Nix out of this, because every time Nix says he's going to do something, he does it. It seems like Gailey is the one behind the strange cuts and even stranger refusal to use/acquire any new talent.
Perhaps this is more of a rant than anything else, but it seems like the only thing consistent in this picture is the confusion and disappointment. The more and more I think about it, we have a head coach who once had a website dedicated to getting him fired. He's an offensive mind that doesn't seem to be improving the offense. Meanwhile the defense is still continuing to struggle.
I'm just putting this out there: I don't think Gailey has the cajones to cut guys like McKelvin, Thigpen, etc. that are contributing absolutely nothing to the team right now and still occupying a roster spot.
