I live about 30 miles from where Stephen Gilmore grew up and want to pass on some observations made by a co-worker just after the draft. For what it is worth, this co-worker was a defensive back at a Division II school.

My co-worker has been watching Stephen play football since he was a little kid. Gilmore's grandparents live down the street from him. Apparently, Gilmore was a safety in high school with a reputation for being a "Quarterback Killer", having knocked a number of them out of the game with hard hits. Gilmore was a very aggressive and physical player. He believes that Gilmore will be a very successful NFL cornerback, but believes he would be an even better safety.

I am hoping he is right about Stephen Gilmore. For what it is worth, he played against and partied with Ko Simpson and predicted his flameout.
