Less than two full weeks after taking the vicious hit you can see in the picture to the right, Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has already been labeled ahead of schedule as he recovers from his sprained LCL.

"He must be a fast healer," head coach Chan Gailey quipped on Thursday. (Either that or he's got legs like Gumby, coach.)

Jackson has been participating in some individual running back drills during team practices this week. Originally given a four-to-six week timeline for his recovery, it's now looking like the 31-year-old runner could be back before those four weeks are up; he won't play this Sunday in Cleveland, but would it really shock any of us if he suited up against New England?

In the meantime, the Bills are leaving their rushing attack in the very capable hands of C.J. Spiller, the NFL's current leading rusher. It will be interesting to see how Jackson's role will change, if at all, when he does get back onto the field.
