EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - NOVEMBER 27: Steve Johnson #13 of the Buffalo Bills grabs his leg while celebrating after scoring a touchdown during a game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on November 27, 2011 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Bills were penalized 15 yards for excessive celebration as Johnson was apparently mimicking the self-inflicted gunshot wound of Plaxico Burress #17 of the New York Jets. Football is officially back in Western New York, and we'll find out in roughly three hours whether the Buffalo Bills are able to usher the sport in with a vengeance.
Today's opponent: the New York Jets, who despite the so-called circus surrounding the team has really put it to Buffalo in the two teams' last five meetings. The Jets have won those games by an average score of 33-14, and not even a close 28-24 road loss in the most recent game on Buffalo's part can resolve a taste that bitter.
The Bills will have Stevie Johnson for this contest, but (maybe) barely. That's the freshest concern for the team; the rest are well-documented. The Jets have concerns of their own. On paper, these two teams match up fairly evenly, but it'll be on the Bills to match New York's intensity and physicality if they want to open up the 2012 season with a big division win on the road.
