Good morning Rumblers, I just got some stuff on my chest that I want to get off. The issue that I've been having, is hearing/reading about everyone's opinion about QB prospects that we passed up, whether or not this QB has value in this round; Nix not drafting a QB, blah blah blah blah blah. When are you all going to realize, that's its less about the guy, but more about the situation/team he is going to? I have NO doubt, that if Dalton, Wilson, Kaepernick, Ponder, Mallet, Tannehill, or any other QB that you all are pissed that we didn't take, was drafted by the Bills, that they all would've have bust. Folks, in order for a QB to be successful in this league, the right foundation organizationally (Coach, Owner, GM, front office) have to be in place for him to succeed. All of these QB have talent, yes even Edwards and Losman, but neither one of these guys was placed in an environment that was conducive to their success. You ever wonder why a guy like Brady was able to succeed and be more succeasful than anything QB that came out his same year? It's simple, it's because he went to organization that was situated properly for a young QB. You ever wonder why Leinart bust or Joey Harrington, even David Carr? Not because they sucked, but they were in bad situations. Only afterwards, did their confidence and skills diminished. It's the reason why we seen Edwards digress as a QB and a Blaine Gabbert look like a deer in headlights. I'm not saying that these QB's aren't talented and it's ALL about the team. You do have some very gifted and extremely talented QB's that can succeed regardless of the dysfunction around them, but they are rare. Now quite honestly, I don't know if we are better of this year than previous years. I don't know if we have the foundation in place to groom a young QB. But what I do know, is that the debate should be about that, rather than what QB we passed up on or what QB is valued at what pick. I'm positive that any QB we bring in here with marginal skills, can and will succeed if the right things are in place. So stop worrying about the QB we "missed", and start thinking about the things that are needed to be in place for a QB to be successful on this team.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
