Buffalo Bills Coaching Staff Still Missing An O-Line Coach

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

After announcing three more coaching staff hires, the Buffalo Bills now have 17 coaches under contract - but still don't have anyone in place to coach the offensive line.

The Buffalo Bills have announced the additions of three more assistant coaches to Doug Marrone's staff, bringing the total number of coaches to 17 with one more title of significance yet to be filled.

Ike Hilliard is the team's new wide receivers coach; he held the same job title last season with the Washington Redskins. John Anselmo will be the team's special teams assistant coach after leading Syracuse's recruiting efforts in New York City under Marrone. Finally, Hal Luther - a strength and conditioning coach at Syracuse for the past 13 years, will be the assistant to Eric Ciano in that same capacity in Buffalo.

The Bills have also officially added a title for Nathaniel Hackett, who will be the team's quarterbacks coach in addition to his previously disclosed offensive coordinator role.

With 17 coaches in tow, one key opening remains: the Bills still do not have an offensive line coach. That's an area where Marrone - a former offensive lineman himself - may be more than directly involved, but we can safely expect at least one more coaching hire before long.

And if you're looking for an updated tally on the total number of former Syracuse coaches (including Marrone) that have migrated to Buffalo: it's eight (Marrone, Hackett, Wheatley, Adkins, Henderson, Rebrovich, Anselmo and Luther).
